Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3, officially titled GALACTIC BATTLE, launched on May 2, 2025 as an all-Star Wars Battle Royale season. Epic’s rollout added Star Wars locations, blaster weapons, lightsabers, Force abilities and pilotable X-wings and TIE fighters in weekly stages before ending with the Death Star Sabotage event on June 7, 2025. The Battle Pass and its progression window ended that day, so this is a historical recap rather than current Fortnite guidance.
When did the Fortnite Star Wars season start?
GALACTIC BATTLE began on May 2, 2025. Epic described it as its first entirely Star Wars-themed Battle Royale season, while StarWars.com presented the content as a five-part saga. New features were scheduled to arrive throughout the season rather than all at once.
What changed at launch?
Star Wars locations
Launch-day points of interest included First Order Base, Outpost Enclave, Resistance Base and Vader Samurai’s Solitude. Epic’s descriptions included a utility shaft at First Order Base, a parked sandcrawler at Outpost Enclave, X-wings and equipment at Resistance Base, and a Vader Samurai encounter at the final location.

Epic’s launch weapon list was built around blasters: DL-44, CR-2, ACP Scatter Blaster, BARM-ST12, DLT-19, IQA-11, A280-CFE, DC-15, E-11 and F-11. The announcement also introduced the Thermal Imploder. Blasters could overheat, making heat management part of the stated design, but the announcement did not establish independent balance or performance results.

Lightsabers and Force powers
Lightsabers could be obtained through Force training or looted from another player. Hologram Rey was associated with the Blue Lightsaber and Force Push; hologram Emperor Palpatine with the Red Lightsaber and Force Lightning; and defeating Darth Vader Samurai with Force Saber Throw. A looted lightsaber did not itself grant a Force Ability.
X-wings and TIE fighters
Both ships were described as pilotable craft with their own blasters. Epic initially excluded X-wings and TIE fighters from tournaments, while its May 2 update said the Thermal Imploder would be available in tournament play. Those tournament rules should not be treated as restrictions on ordinary Battle Royale matches.

These are Epic’s scheduled feature descriptions. They document the planned rollout, not an independently verified play-by-play of every live update.
What was in the Star Wars Battle Pass?
The pass offered free and premium digital rewards earned with XP in any Fortnite experience. Premium access cost 1,000 V-Bucks or was included through Fortnite Crew. The progression window ran from May 2 through June 7, 2025, Eastern Time.

The Fortnite Watch Party and Tales of the Underworld
A separate Fortnite Watch Party island promoted advance viewing of the first two Tales of the Underworld episodes. StarWars.com stated that the episodes were shown in Fortnite 48 hours before their Disney+ debut. This was an in-game viewing promotion, not a replacement for the Disney+ release.

Epic also announced related digital promotions, including a Star Wars and Porsche 911 GT3 RS cosmetic bundle, Star Wars Crocs cosmetics, a First Order Stormtrooper outfit for eligible Epic/MyDisney account linking and Twitch Drops. Those offers were tied to the 2025 campaign; current availability would need separate confirmation.

What the launch coverage can—and cannot—establish
The TechRadar page referenced by the launch coverage was described in search results as a live blog with in-game impressions and a pre-launch note that five Battle Pass skins had been confirmed. Its full sequence of updates and gameplay observations is not available here, so this recap does not attribute unverified moment-by-moment reactions to that report. Epic’s official announcements independently establish the dates, named features and Battle Pass terms summarized above.

How the season ended
GALACTIC BATTLE’s planned finale was Death Star Sabotage on June 7, 2025. That date also closed Battle Pass progression, marking the end of the Star Wars season’s announced rollout.
