Fortnite’s Galactic Battle was a Star Wars-themed Battle Royale season that ran from May 2 through June 7, 2025. It introduced themed map locations, pilotable X-wings and TIE fighters, lightsabers and Force abilities, and a weekly rollout of Star Wars characters, weapons, and events. The season and its limited-time activities have ended; details below describe what Epic announced for 2025, not what is currently playable.
What was Fortnite: Galactic Battle?
Epic called Galactic Battle its first entirely Star Wars-themed Battle Royale season. The five-part season brought new Star Wars content and gameplay to Fortnite each week, including a Star Wars Battle Pass and themed locations. The wider collaboration also included a Star Wars Watch Party island and an in-game premiere of the first two episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld ahead of the show’s Disney+ debut. Epic’s announcement described it as the company’s largest Star Wars collaboration to that point.
What changed on the Battle Royale map?
Epic’s season guide named four Star Wars-themed locations:
- First Order Base
- Outpost Enclave
- Resistance Base, where players could find X-wings and equipment
- Vader Samurai’s Solitude, guarded by stormtrooper samurai and offering the possibility of challenging Darth Vader
The season also let players pilot X-wings and TIE fighters. These map and vehicle features were part of the 2025 season, not a claim about the current Battle Royale map. Epic’s season announcement and season guide introduced the themed locations and starfighters.

How did lightsabers and Force abilities work?
According to Epic’s guide, players could earn a lightsaber through Force training or loot one from another player. Lightsabers could deflect blaster bolts; wielding one also enabled faster sprinting, a double jump, and immunity to fall damage. Those were season-specific mechanics documented for Galactic Battle.
At launch, hologram Rey offered a Blue Lightsaber and Force Push, while hologram Emperor Palpatine offered a Red Lightsaber and Force Lightning. Mace Windu joined as a trainer on May 8, offering a Purple Lightsaber and Force Pull. These abilities and trainer interactions belonged to the 2025 season.

Ryan Broseker, Senior Marketing Manager at Epic Games, summed up the announced benefits in his May 1, 2025 PlayStation Blog guide: “Lightsabers are exceptionally handy for deflecting blaster bolts, and wielding one will allow you to sprint faster, jump twice as high, and have immunity to fall damage.”
Which Star Wars weapons arrived?
The launch-day arsenal focused on blasters and also included a Thermal Imploder. Epic’s planned additions then expanded the weapon selection through May:

The Battle Pass had free and premium rewards that could be earned through XP in any Fortnite experience. The premium progression option cost 1,000 V-Bucks or was available through Fortnite Crew when announced. Its progression window ran from May 2 to June 7, 2025, Eastern Time. Named premium outfits included Apprentice Evie, Poe Dameron, Wookiee Team Leader, Emperor Palpatine, and later General Grievous. These are historical details about the 2025 pass, not a current offer. Did the collaboration extend beyond Battle Royale?
Yes. Epic’s 2025 coverage also described a Star Wars Festival in LEGO Fortnite Brick Life, a limited public matchmaking test in LEGO Fortnite Odyssey, and Star Wars crossover modes and challenges in Rocket League. Each had its own dates; they were separate from the Battle Royale season schedule. Epic also announced that eligible players who linked Epic and MyDisney accounts could unlock a First Order Stormtrooper Outfit. That was a 2025 promotion, distinct from later account-linking rewards.
Is Galactic Battle still current?
No. Galactic Battle was a 2025 season, and its announced Battle Pass period and finale ended on June 7, 2025 Eastern Time. Its season-specific locations, weapon schedule, and limited-time activities should not be treated as currently available.
Fortnite later received separate Star Wars experiences. A StarWars.com overview describes experiences added in May 2026, including Galactic Siege, Escape Vader, and Droid Tycoon, as well as LEGO Fortnite Odyssey additions. That later content is not part of Galactic Battle. The overview says the Carbonite Fishstick Back Bling could be unlocked by linking an Epic Games Account with a MyDisney Account through October 31, 2026; check the linked page for current availability before acting on that offer.
