The Fortnite Godzilla event began on January 17, 2025, after Epic announced Godzilla and King Kong crossover content for Battle Royale update v33.20 the day before. The limited-time Godzilla portal encounter and Chapter 6 Season 1 quests have ended. The crossover also brought Mechagodzilla and Kong cosmetics and a virtual Nissan Skyline GT-R bundle to the Item Shop; Epic’s listed purchase deadline for the car bundle has passed.
When did the Fortnite Godzilla event start?
Epic announced the crossover for Fortnite Battle Royale v33.20 on January 16, 2025. The portal encounter began January 17. During a match, a portal could appear; the first player to find and enter it transformed into Godzilla, while the rest of the lobby could attack the titan. Only one player became Godzilla in that encounter. Epic’s January 16, 2025 announcement described Godzilla’s abilities as Roar, which revealed nearby players; Mighty Stomp, which sent them flying; and Heat Ray, which damaged players and structures.
How the match rewards worked
Players attacking Godzilla could aim for weak spots to deal extra damage and knock off Godzilla Fragments. Consuming a fragment restored 40 Health and granted 3 dash charges. The player who dealt the most damage received the Godzilla Medallion, which provided a recharging dash ability with up to three charges at a time, as well as an exotic Burst Quad Launcher. Epic also listed the Rail Gun and Shield Bubble among the available combat items.
How did you get the Godzilla skin in Fortnite?
The Godzilla Evolved Outfit was a quest reward for owners of the Chapter 6 Season 1 鬼 HUNTERS Battle Pass. Completing the associated quests also unlocked Godzilla’s Exo-Spine Back Bling, Crystal Fang Pickaxe, Mothra Glider and Lil’ Godzilla Attack Emote. Finishing every quest unlocked the Energized Godzilla Style. The outfit began glowing after its wearer’s first elimination in a match and glowed brighter with each further elimination.

The quests ended with Chapter 6 Season 1 on February 21, 2025, at 2 a.m. ET. This was a timed Battle Pass quest reward, not an Item Shop purchase.
Is the Godzilla skin still available?
The Chapter 6 Season 1 quest period for earning Godzilla Evolved ended on February 21, 2025. Epic’s cited announcement does not establish that the outfit has returned to the Item Shop or that another way to obtain it is currently available. The same evidence does not establish a future rerun, so availability beyond that original quest window should not be assumed.
