The newer change is that, since July 23, 2026, Prime members in the United States and United Kingdom can find Luna games in the Games tab of the Prime Video app on supported Fire TV devices. Prime members can stream Fortnite through Luna without a separate Fortnite charge, but they still need a supported setup and a stable connection.
What changed—and when?
Amazon and Epic announced Fortnite for Luna on May 3, 2023. The launch covered the United States, Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom, with Battle Royale and Creative among the modes named at the time. Amazon’s launch announcement has the original details.
The newer Fire TV development is an access and discovery change, not Fortnite’s first appearance on Luna: Amazon says Prime members in the United States and United Kingdom can access Luna games through a Games tab in the Prime Video app on Fire TV, starting July 23, 2026. Is Fortnite on Luna free?
Epic’s current Luna page says Amazon Prime members can stream Fortnite at no additional charge. That means there is no separate Fortnite purchase for this route; it does not make Prime membership, internet service, compatible hardware, or a controller free. Prime is a paid membership. The official information cited here does not establish a current Luna+ price or confirm a non-Prime route, so check the live Luna sign-in options rather than relying on older subscription or trial terms.

How to play Fortnite on Fire TV
- Sign in to Fire TV with the Amazon account that has the relevant Prime membership.
- Update Fire TV software and the Prime Video app if updates are offered.
- Open Prime Video and look for its Games tab. Depending on the model, region, and software version, the menu or route to Luna may differ.
- Select Fortnite, or open Luna and choose Fortnite if that is how games appear on your device.
- Pair a compatible Bluetooth game controller, or use a phone as a controller if that option is offered in your Luna interface.
- Start the stream. Luna runs the game in the cloud, so you do not install the full Fortnite game locally on Fire TV.
Amazon’s Fire TV announcement describes access through the Prime Video Games tab and play using a controller or phone. Not seeing the tab does not by itself mean Fortnite has been removed: check the account, region, device compatibility, and app and system versions.
Supported devices and regions
Epic lists Fire TV, Fire tablets, Windows PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, iPhone and iPad through Safari, Android devices, Microsoft Edge, and selected Samsung Smart TVs as Luna endpoints for Fortnite. Its Fortnite Luna page is the current starting point for device information. The Prime Video Games tab announcement specifies the United States and United Kingdom; do not assume that this particular Fire TV integration is available in every Luna market.

Fire TV encompasses many models, and Amazon’s device documentation does not establish identical game support for every model or software generation. Check Amazon’s Fire TV information and its device specifications comparison table, then check what Luna or Prime Video actually offers on your device. Catalog and content availability can vary by region.
Controller and input options
For Fortnite on a television, use a compatible Bluetooth game controller rather than counting on the Fire TV remote for full gameplay. Epic lists Bluetooth controllers, including the Luna Controller, on supported Luna devices; touch controls are available on mobile. Keyboard and mouse are supported on Windows PC, Mac, and Chromebook, not identified as the Fire TV input route. Amazon’s Luna overview also names the Xbox One Controller, DualShock 4, Razer Kishi, and standard mouse and keyboard among supported input options, but suitability depends on device and game. If you already own a Bluetooth controller, try it before buying another; support is not guaranteed across every Fire TV model or software version.

Connection quality matters
Amazon recommends at least 10 Mbps of sustained internet speed for Luna, while Epic emphasizes a high-speed, low-latency, stable connection. The 10 Mbps figure is a recommendation, not a guarantee of responsive play: congestion, packet loss, latency, and other household traffic also affect streamed gameplay. Amazon’s guidance is in its Luna overview; Epic’s requirements appear on its Fortnite Luna page.
- Use Ethernet if your setup supports it, or a strong 5 GHz or 6 GHz Wi-Fi connection.
- Pause large downloads and uploads and reduce simultaneous high-bandwidth streaming or video calls.
- If the video looks acceptable but controls feel delayed, the connection may still have too much latency for comfortable play.
Cloud streaming can be convenient, but it is not equivalent to local play for input response. Players who prioritize the lowest possible latency may prefer installing Fortnite on compatible hardware.

Progress, account, and modes
Sign in with the same Epic Games account you use on other platforms. Fortnite account progress is generally associated with that account, but do not assume every purchased item, currency balance, platform-specific entitlement, competitive feature, or parental-control setting behaves identically everywhere. If progress appears missing, verify the Epic account before creating or linking another one, and consult Epic’s current account-linking guidance.
Battle Royale and Creative were explicitly named in Amazon’s May 2023 Luna announcement. Fortnite changes over time, and the available official information does not establish that every current mode, event, or feature is available through Luna. Check the in-product listing for the modes offered when you play.

Troubleshoot common problems
Fortnite or the Games tab is missing
- Confirm that you are in a supported country and signed in to the intended Amazon account.
- Check Prime status for the advertised no-additional-Fortnite-charge route.
- Install available Fire TV system and Prime Video updates, then look in Prime Video’s Games tab as well as the Fire TV app listings.
- Check whether your specific Fire TV model and region expose the feature; Amazon notes that availability varies.
The stream stutters or controls feel delayed
- Switch away from congested 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi to a stronger 5 GHz or 6 GHz network, or use Ethernet if available.
- Pause competing downloads, uploads, and streams; restart the router and Fire TV if connection problems persist.
- Reconnect the controller or try another compatible controller to rule out Bluetooth input problems.
Progress or purchases look wrong
- Check that Luna is signed in to the same Epic account as your established Fortnite profile.
- If the wrong profile was selected, sign out and back in before changing account links or creating another Epic account.
- Check Epic’s account settings for linking and platform-specific entitlement details.
When another way to play may suit you better
Epic also identifies Xbox Cloud Gaming and NVIDIA GeForce NOW as Fortnite cloud-streaming options. Their current access requirements, prices, and plan limits are not established here, so check each service before choosing. They may suit people already using those ecosystems; Luna’s Fire TV route is most straightforward for a Prime member whose supported device and connection work well.
Local PC, console, or mobile installation avoids dependence on a cloud stream, but requires compatible hardware, storage, downloads, and updates. For a casual Fire TV player with Prime, a usable Bluetooth controller, and steady internet, Luna offers a convenient way to play without installing Fortnite on the TV. For competitive play or an unstable network, the stream’s latency and reliability may be the deciding drawback.
