Start with the exact error and tournament details
In Fortnite’s Competitive tab, open the Solo Cash Cup’s lock icon or Details panel. A lock can mean the event hasn’t started yet, or that your account doesn’t meet one or more requirements. The panel identifies what is missing, so check it before treating “unable to queue” as a network problem. Epic’s tournament entry guidance also notes that event rules can include additional conditions, such as age limits.
Check the event’s requirements, not just general thresholds
Epic’s general guidance says 2FA is required for Fortnite tournaments. It lists Account Level 50 for general tournaments and says most cash-prize tournaments require Account Level 350 plus participation in 14 distinct tournaments during the preceding 180 days. Playing multiple rounds or regions of the same tournament does not count as multiple tournaments. These are general thresholds, not a guarantee that a particular Solo Cash Cup uses identical rules: check the event’s in-game Details and rules for its current requirements. Make sure the tournament session is still open
Fortnite tournaments run during scheduled dates and times. If you see “The Battle Bus has already departed for this Tournament,” the queue window for that session has passed. Check the tournament schedule for another session rather than resetting your network. Epic’s tournament matchmaking help explains this message.

Check Epic’s service status
Epic says matchmaking errors are mainly caused by server maintenance or a network connection issue. Check the Epic Games status page for a matchmaking outage or maintenance. If the service is down or disabled, wait for it to return before trying again; changing local network settings cannot resolve an Epic-side outage.
If matchmaking is operational, troubleshoot your connection
If service status is clear, use Epic’s connection troubleshooting guidance for your platform. Its suggested options include restarting your modem or router, syncing your device clock, clearing cache, disabling a proxy or background applications, flushing DNS, resetting the Windows Hosts file, and switching to public DNS. These are possible troubleshooting steps, not guaranteed fixes; follow the instructions relevant to your device in Epic’s matchmaking troubleshooting article.

If you’re investigating whether Wi-Fi is contributing to a local connection issue, testing with a wired Ethernet connection may help isolate the wireless path. It will not resolve an eligibility restriction, an expired session, or server maintenance.
Use the message to choose the next step

Report a failure that persists
If the event’s requirements are satisfied, its session is open, service status is operational, and connection troubleshooting has not helped, submit a Fortnite bug report in-game. Include the exact error text, event name, region, platform, and when it happened; this information can help describe the issue clearly.
