Phil Spencer’s June 2025 comment teased “the Next Forza” for Xbox’s 25th anniversary year; he did not name Forza Horizon 6. Playground Games revealed the game by name three months later, set it in Japan, and released it for Xbox Series X|S and PC on May 19, 2026. A PlayStation 5 version was planned for later in 2026, but the official sources cited here do not give a date.
What did Phil Spencer say about the next Forza?
At the end of the Xbox Games Showcase on June 8, 2025, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer said: “I’m excited to share that players will get to celebrate 25 years of Xbox with a new Fable, the Next Forza, Gears of War E-Day, and the return of a classic that’s been with us since the beginning.” Windows Central reproduced the quote, and GameSpot also reported that Spencer had teased the next Forza among Xbox’s anniversary-year games. Cars and steering features
Xbox and Playground Games described the launch roster as containing over 550 real-world cars. That is the publisher’s roster figure, not an independent count. An official feature post also says steering animations can show up to 540 degrees of wheel rotation; it does not verify compatibility with any particular third-party racing wheel.
