This is a recap of that 2025 update—not a newly arriving 2026 release.
Which IndyCars did Update 21 add?
Update 21 added the 2025 Chevrolet IndyCar and 2025 Honda IndyCar to the Showroom, where players can purchase them with in-game credits. Turn 10 said both cars would remain permanently available, rather than being limited-time additions. Forza’s Update 21 overview also outlined two ways to race them:

- Career: Take the IndyCars into the Thunder Tour in the Champions Cup.
- Featured Multiplayer: Join the IndyCar Series, which rotates among oval and GP/road layouts. The cars’ aero parts are swapped to suit the track type.
What is the Champions Cup?
The Champions Cup is a permanent, single-player Career component focused on race cars. It gives players Tours across different racing disciplines, as well as Invitationals that unlock through progression. Its addition is distinct from the existing Builders Cup Career.
Tours in the Champions Cup
Update 21 introduced One-Make, Touring World, Thunder, Single Seat, and Endurance Tours. The Thunder Tour spans several forms of competition, including Australian Supercars, Forza T/A, Modern NASCAR, and IndyCar. The result is a Career route into the new IndyCars as well as other race-car series.
#1 Best Overall

- Out-build the competition using more than 800 performance upgrades in the all-new, fun, and rewarding single-player experience, the Builders Cup Career Mode.
- Race alongside your friends in adjudicated multiplayer events with tire and fuel strategy, a race weekend– inspired structure, and new driver and safety ratings.
- Compete with cutting-edge AI opponents, advanced physics, powerful assists, new damage and dirt accumulation systems, and photorealistic visuals with real-time ray tracing on-track.
What else changed in Update 21?
- Returning Career content: Previously released Featured Tours and their reward cars began returning on July 3, 2025. Turn 10’s rollout plan scheduled another Tour to return each month.
- Builders Cup access: Builders Cup Tours became immediately accessible. Select Builders Cup series also gained eligible cars and post-launch tracks.
- Car pricing: Turn 10 said 162 cars—87% of the cars affected by its Champions Cup racecar pricing adjustment—received a price decrease. That percentage applies to the affected cars, not the entire game roster.
- Multiplayer and menus: Featured Multiplayer was reorganized, and the Challenge Hub menu changed. Turn 10 also made balance-of-performance adjustments for four divisions.
- Fixes: The release notes include single-player AI fixes and a Fanatec DD2 racing-wheel mapping fix. Turn 10 said it corrected an issue that assigned the DD2 an incorrect mapping profile; the note does not establish that the wheel is required or that the same issue affected other wheels. See the Update 21 release notes for the full list.
When and where did Update 21 arrive?
Turn 10 began rolling out Update 21 on June 16, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S and PC through the Microsoft Store and Steam. Multiplayer and Rivals event refreshes were scheduled separately for June 18 at 5:00 p.m. PT, which was June 19 at 12:00 a.m. UTC. Those refresh times were event scheduling, not a different release date for the update itself.

No. Update 21’s IndyCars are content inside Forza Motorsport. INDYCAR Racing The Game is a separate project from iRacing Studios: INDYCAR announced that title and an early 2027 release window on July 10, 2026. The standalone game is not part of Update 21. INDYCAR’s announcement covers that later project.
