First identify whether the problem is rendering performance, frame-time stutter, input delay, or network lag. A falling frame counter points to the PC, console, display settings, thermals, drivers, files, or a game update; teleporting players and delayed matchmaking point to the connection or servers. Use the platform-specific sequence below, retesting after each major change.
Identify the symptom before changing anything

Changing DNS, restarting a router or buying an Ethernet cable cannot increase frames produced by a GPU bottleneck. Those actions belong in the network section, not the rendering workflow.
Check for a current Fall Guys issue
If the problem started immediately after a Fall Guys, Windows, graphics-driver, Steam or Epic Games Launcher update, note the date and check Epic’s live-issues and system-status resources. Epic directs players there, as well as to Server Owl, its public issue tracker, social channels and news pages. A confirmed regression may require a game-side fix; repeatedly reinstalling Windows will not solve it.
- Record when the drops began and whether they occur in every mode.
- Test another game. A problem affecting several games is more likely to be system-wide.
- Check the official issue and status pages before making invasive changes.
Platform matters
PC
PC players can change drivers, files, caches, power settings and display options. The official minimum specification is 64-bit Windows 10, an Intel Core i5 or AMD equivalent, 8 GB RAM, an NVIDIA GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7950, broadband internet and 2 GB of available storage. These are minimum requirements, not a promise of 60, 120 or 144 FPS.

PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch
Do not apply Windows commands, graphics-control-panel settings or PC cache paths to a console. Fully close the game, restart the console, install game and system updates, and check Epic’s issue pages. Test another game to see whether the console itself is affected. Reinstall only after those steps fail. Nintendo routes Switch-specific game help to its Fall Guys support page.
Mobile
Mobile performance depends on the handset, operating-system version, thermal conditions and available settings. PC requirements and PC cache procedures do not apply. Close other apps, update the game and system, avoid playing while the device is overheating, and report a reproducible device-specific problem to support.
Safe first-line fixes
- Restart. Exit Fall Guys completely and restart the device. On PC, restart the Epic Games Launcher or Steam as well.
- Update Windows and the graphics driver. Epic recommends current operating-system and graphics-driver versions, but an update is not a guaranteed cure. If the issue began with a new driver, compare behavior using the manufacturer’s supported rollback option.
- Close interference. Temporarily close browser video, recording software, GPU and chat overlays, hardware-monitoring overlays, RGB utilities, unnecessary launchers and third-party antivirus gaming modes. Restore protection after testing; do not permanently disable security software.
- Check power and heat. Connect a laptop charger, select a performance-oriented power mode, and watch CPU/GPU temperature and utilization. If performance degrades as the machine heats, investigate airflow and thermal throttling rather than network settings.
- Verify files. In Epic Games Store, open the game’s library management options and choose the verification command. In Steam, use Verify integrity of game files. Epic says verification replaces missing or corrupted files; launcher labels can change, so use the current menu wording.
Relaunch Fall Guys after each major change. This controlled sequence tells you which step mattered and makes support reports more useful.
Diagnose the PC bottleneck
These are general performance inferences, not Fall Guys-specific benchmark results. Use a frame-time graph and observe GPU utilization, GPU temperature, CPU utilization (including individual cores), RAM and VRAM use.
- If lowering resolution or visual quality produces a clear FPS improvement, the GPU or VRAM is likely limiting performance.
- If settings changes barely alter FPS, investigate a CPU limit, background task, driver, frame pacing, thermals or a game-side regression.
- If the game starts smoothly and worsens as temperatures rise, look for thermal throttling and blocked airflow.
- If average FPS is high but frame-time spikes are visible, describe the problem as stutter or poor frame pacing rather than simply low FPS.
- When many beans or effects appear, compare GPU and CPU load at that moment; do not assume the network is responsible for a rendering hitch.
Display, VSync and frame-rate settings
Check Windows’ selected monitor refresh rate, the game’s resolution and VSync, fullscreen versus borderless mode, adaptive-sync settings such as G-SYNC or FreeSync, and which GPU is assigned. On laptops, confirm that Fall Guys is using the dedicated GPU and that the charger is connected. These are controlled troubleshooting tests, not guaranteed Fall Guys fixes.
Epic’s refresh-rate guidance states that consoles use 60 Hz; on PC, VSync on caps the game at 60 Hz, while VSync off allows the computer’s display settings to be used. VSync can reduce tearing but may add latency or unevenness when the game cannot sustain the synchronized rate. Turning it off may expose tearing and increase GPU load. A stable cap that your system can maintain can feel better than an uncapped rate that repeatedly swings between highs and severe lows. Choose the cap for your monitor and hardware rather than copying a universal number.
For a system near or below minimum specification, Epic’s internal troubleshooting guidance mentions lowering game settings or monitor resolution and testing VSync off. That is hardware-dependent advice, not a promise of a particular FPS.

Clear caches and repair PC dependencies
Clear the Fall Guys cache
Epic’s technical-issues instructions identify this folder:
C:Users<your username>AppDataLocalLowMediatonicFallGuys_client
- Close Fall Guys and the Epic Games Launcher.
- Open File Explorer and go to
C:Users<your username>AppDataLocalLowMediatonic. - Delete only the
FallGuys_clientfolder. - Restart the launcher and game.
Cached data can be regenerated. This is not a guaranteed FPS fix, and deleting the entire Mediatonic directory is not the instructed operation.
Reinstall Epic Online Services/Easy Anti-Cheat components
This is more relevant to launch, anti-cheat and technical failures than to an ordinary GPU-limited drop. Epic’s listed path is:
- Open the Epic Games Launcher library and find Fall Guys.
- Click the three dots, choose Manage, then click the folder icon beside Uninstall.
- Open
EpicOnlineServicesand runEpicOnlineServicesInstaller. - Install it on the appropriate main disk and relaunch Fall Guys.
Repair Visual C++ and Windows files
When runtime components are missing or damaged, Epic recommends repairing both the x64 and x86 Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages. Treat this as a dependency repair, not an FPS booster.
If simpler steps fail, run System File Checker from an elevated Command Prompt:

Do not use registry edits, unofficial DLL packs, driver debloaters or “FPS booster” utilities. Epic warns against registry editing in its Windows 11 hardware-stack guidance.
When it is actually network lag
Use network troubleshooting for rubber-banding, teleporting, disconnects, matchmaking failures, party errors or actions arriving late while the picture remains smooth. Epic’s connection guidance recommends:

- Checking service status first.
- Testing a wired connection where possible.
- Restarting the router and modem.
- Synchronizing the device clock.
- Reviewing properly scoped firewall and antivirus exceptions.
- Disabling a VPN for a controlled test.
- Trying DNS changes only as a later connection test.
These steps address connectivity, not a frame counter falling from 120 to 30 because the GPU cannot render the scene. Nearby Bluetooth devices can interfere with wireless signals, so Epic also suggests testing with them disabled when investigating wireless input or connection symptoms; that does not establish Bluetooth as a cause of rendering FPS drops.
Console workflow
- Fully close Fall Guys rather than leaving it suspended.
- Restart the console.
- Install all Fall Guys and system updates.
- Check Epic’s live-issues and server-status resources.
- Test another game and note whether the issue occurs only in Fall Guys.
- Reinstall Fall Guys only after the above checks.
- Report a persistent platform-specific issue with the console model, game version, mode, date and time, and a video if possible.
Epic documents console refresh rate as 60 Hz; a higher-refresh monitor cannot make a console version render above that documented setting.

Submit a ticket when the issue survives restarts, updates, file verification, background-app tests and platform-appropriate repairs, or when it clearly began with a current update. Include:
- Platform, operating-system version and PC hardware (CPU, GPU, RAM, storage and monitor).
- Country or region and your Epic Games, game-support or Steam ID as requested.
- The exact date and time, round or mode, and whether every match is affected.
- Whether Fall Guys, Windows, the driver, Steam or the launcher changed immediately beforehand.
- Every step already attempted and what changed.
- On PC, DxDiag, MSInfo and relevant game logs.
- Ping results, a speed-test screenshot when connection symptoms exist, and an optional short video showing the issue.

Should you buy hardware?
Diagnose before spending. A graphics-card upgrade is relevant only when the PC is below or barely above the minimum, lowering resolution materially improves performance, or monitoring shows sustained GPU saturation. A replacement laptop or desktop is a last resort for hardware that cannot meet the minimum or persistently throttles. A higher-refresh monitor is unsuitable for console players and cannot help a PC that cannot maintain a stable rate. Cooling improvements make sense only when measurements show overheating. An Ethernet cable can help rubber-banding and packet loss, not GPU-rendering FPS.

Why does Fall Guys drop to 30 FPS?
A drop to 30 FPS can result from a GPU or CPU limit, thermal throttling, background software, frame synchronization, a driver or file problem, or a game-side regression. Check utilization, temperatures, settings and recent updates rather than assuming the network is responsible.
Does lowering graphics quality always fix FPS drops?
No. It helps when the GPU or VRAM is the bottleneck. If FPS barely changes at a lower resolution, investigate CPU load, frame pacing, thermals, drivers, background tasks or a live-service issue.

Is Fall Guys capped at 60 FPS?
Epic documents 60 Hz on consoles. On PC, VSync on caps the game at 60 Hz; with VSync off, the game can use the computer’s display settings.
Can Wi-Fi cause FPS drops?
Wi-Fi can cause rubber-banding, packet loss and delayed actions, but it does not normally reduce the number of frames your GPU renders. Classify the symptom before changing the network.
Why can a powerful PC still stutter?
High-end hardware does not rule out frame-time spikes from drivers, overlays, thermal or power behavior, background processes, display synchronization, asset loading or a game update.
Should I reinstall Fall Guys?
