“Database Login Failure” in Friday the 13th: The Game was identified by the developer as a backend/server issue during the game’s 2017 launch—not proof that a player’s internet connection or computer was at fault. Later support guidance described it as a failure to connect through a game profile. Those explanations are historical; current official login and server availability by platform has not been confirmed in the sources available.
What the error means
The accompanying message, “Verify Internet Connectivity,” does not establish that your local connection caused the failure. In May 2017, the developer described “Database Login Failure” and “Saving Profile Data” as backend/server problems and said it was addressing them incrementally, separately from a patch. After maintenance, the developer said players should be able to access their accounts and see stats, unlocks, and perks.

In a May 29, 2017 update, developer ThePraetorian reported that “around 0.05% of players are still seeing the database login. That’s across all 3 platforms.” That was an estimate for the remaining cases in that incident, not a current failure rate. Read the developer’s Steam announcement.
What to try if you see it now
- Check your platform’s online connection. Confirm that your console or PC can reach its platform service and that other online features work. This is basic triage, not evidence that your home network caused this specific error.
- Check official game or support announcements. Look for a current notice about profile login or service availability for your platform.
- If official support is available, contact it with your platform and the exact error text. A support reply reproduced in a March 2022 Steam discussion said the error meant the player could not connect to the game through their profile and recommended submitting a support ticket for individual investigation. That is guidance reported in 2022; it does not confirm that the same support route is active now. See the Steam discussion reproducing the support reply.
These checks cannot restore access if the game’s official profile or server service is unavailable. The sources do not establish a validated current workaround or promise that a local setting change will fix the error.

Current server status is not confirmed here
Later community posts claim that official servers were shut down, but the available material does not include authoritative publisher or developer confirmation of a shutdown date or platform-by-platform status. Treat those claims as unverified rather than assuming the service is either available or definitively retired. Steam community discussions are not official status notices.

The support message reproduced in 2022 warned that unofficial files or services claiming to unblock or repair accounts are not official and may put a computer or account at risk. It also cautioned that modifying game files may violate the game’s code of conduct. Do not download unknown fix files, pay an account-unblocking service, or bypass protections; no such remedy is validated for this error.
