IceSitruuna’s official descriptions outline that mix, but the available sources do not include independent hands-on testing. If you’re unsure whether its combat and exploration suit you, the developer recommends trying the free Steam demo before buying.
What kind of game is Frontier Hunter?
Steam lists Frontier Hunter: Erza’s Wheel of Fortune as a single-player action-adventure with casual, indie, and RPG tags. IceSitruuna describes it as an anime-style Metroidvania; its July 2024 announcement calls it a Metroidvania-style JRPG. In practical terms, expect side-scrolling exploration combined with action fights and RPG-style character and equipment progression—not a straightforward platform game.
The full release arrived on Steam on July 26, 2024, after an Early Access period that began December 14, 2022. IceSitruuna’s July 9, 2024 announcement listed Steam, Epic, GOG, and PS5 as platforms. Check the relevant store for current availability and regional details.
How exploration, combat, and progression fit together
The official Steam description highlights exploration through secret passages and chambers, alongside boss fights and anime-style story scenes. It also describes three switchable characters, support mechanics, multiple weapon choices, and equipment building. That combination points to a game where discovering routes and rooms sits alongside combat and developing your characters.

#1 Best Overall
- Abstract tile-laying board game for 1–4 players where you draft uniquely shaped tiles and build beautiful constellations across a personal night-sky puzzle board
- Features a distinctive double-headed snake draft that lets players select two different tile shapes each round, creating strategic choices before every placement
- Connect stars, observe roaming planets, and position celestial bodies carefully to complete constellation patterns and maximize your final score
- Play through twelve rounds of tactical drafting and tile placement, balancing immediate scoring opportunities with long-term constellation-building plans
- A visually engaging strategy board game for fans of abstract puzzles, spatial planning, tile drafting, and astronomy-inspired tabletop gameplay
Those features may appeal if you enjoy revisiting areas, finding hidden spaces, and adjusting a party or loadout as you progress. If you prefer linear stages, a simpler character system, or a game focused mainly on story rather than action, the listing alone cannot establish how well the experience will match your preferences. The sources describe the intended feature set, not independently tested pacing or combat quality.
How long does it take to finish?
In its July 2024 release announcement, IceSitruuna estimated about 30–35 hours for a normal playthrough without skipping story, and about 40–50 hours for perfect collection. These are developer estimates, not independently measured completion times; your pace and how thoroughly you explore may differ.
