To move resources between colonies in Frostpunk 2, route them through the city: send them from the first colony to the city, then from the city to the destination colony. A Steam community answer reports that colonies cannot transfer directly to one another. For either leg, open the location’s Resources Transfer controls, set the allocation, and confirm.
How to transfer resources from a colony
- Open the colony or location controls in the Frostland interface. One guide places the colony button near the upper-right of the screen.
- Select Resources Transfer. Another guide describes this as the resource-transfer or cube icon.
- Use the sliders to choose the resource allocation, then confirm.
Button placement and labels may change with game updates. The available guides do not verify the current interface against an official manual.

How to move supplies between two colonies
Use the city as an intermediary. According to the accepted answer in a Steam discussion, send supplies from the source colony to the city, then initiate a second transfer from the city to the destination colony. This is community-reported guidance; official mechanics documentation confirming whether direct colony-to-colony transfers are possible was not found.

The same reference distinguishes those from global resources—heatstamps, prefabs, and cores—and from fixed-supply resources such as workforce, heat, steam, shelter, guard squads, and Frostland Teams. It does not list those latter categories as location-level stockpiles that can be moved with this control.
One-time transfers versus ongoing supply
A secondary guide describes two different ways to move resources: a one-time transfer of 5,000 units, or ongoing shipments along a connection. It says trails and skyways connect locations, and that skyways can increase the amount moved along a route. The guide does not establish current numerical throughput or a universal route capacity, so treat the amount that can move over time as route-dependent rather than assuming a fixed rate.

What to check if a transfer does not work
- Confirm the route endpoints. For a colony-to-colony move, make two transfers with the city between them rather than trying to select the other colony as a direct destination.
- Check the resource category. The listed transferable stockpiles are coal, oil, food, materials, and goods; categories such as heatstamps, prefabs, cores, workforce, and Frostland Teams are classified separately.
- Look for the location control. Guides describe the control as Resources Transfer or a resource-transfer/cube icon, but labels and placement are patch-sensitive.
- Distinguish a route shipment from a one-time transfer. Ongoing movement depends on a connection; a one-time transfer is a separate option in the guide’s description.
