fs_youtubeupload.dll is usually a private component of an older video or slideshow application, so the safest fix is to repair or reinstall the program that originally installed it. Do not download a random copy into System32; restore the DLL beside its original application from a trusted installer instead.
What this file actually does
FS_YouTubeUpload.dll is identified in public file metadata as a 32-bit upload component for older video and slideshow software. It is associated with products including Aimersoft Video Editor, Wondershare Video Editor, Wondershare Fantashow, and Wondershare DVD Slideshow Builder Deluxe.
Those product associations come from software inventories rather than a current publisher manifest, so use them as clues when identifying the parent application. The file is not known to be a Windows component, Microsoft runtime, driver, or normal System32 file.
The component was intended to support YouTube sharing from within the old application. Even if you restore the DLL successfully, the application’s YouTube integration may no longer work because its authentication or upload service is obsolete. You can usually export the finished video and upload it separately through YouTube Studio.

Public catalogs report a 32-bit build commonly identified as version 3.3.12.6, with a size of approximately 212,480 bytes. These are catalog-reported details, not publisher-certified requirements. Multiple builds may share the same filename, so a matching filename alone does not prove that a replacement is correct.

Fix 1: Identify the application that needs the DLL
Do this before replacing any file.
Check the error window
Read the title bar and the surrounding message. It may name Aimersoft Video Editor, Wondershare Video Editor, Fantashow, DVD Slideshow Builder, or another legacy program.
If the message appears while opening a shortcut:
- Right-click the shortcut.
- Select Properties.
- Note the Target path.
- Select Open File Location if available.
- Look for the executable and the folder where
fs_youtubeupload.dllis expected.
The DLL normally belongs in the same application directory as the executable that loads it. Microsoft documents that Windows searches an unpackaged application’s executable directory before system directories, which is why copying a private application DLL into a system folder is usually the wrong repair.
Check installed programs
On Windows 11:
- Open Start > Settings.
- Select Apps > Installed apps.
- Search for Aimersoft, Wondershare, Fantashow, or DVD Slideshow Builder.
- Open the program’s menu and select Advanced options if shown.
- Look for Repair.
On Windows 10, open Settings > Apps > Apps & features, select the program, and choose Advanced options when available.

- Press
Windows + R. - Type
appwiz.cpl. - Press Enter.
- Look for the video or slideshow application.
- Right-click it and check for Repair or Change.
If no application is installed, the error may come from an old startup entry. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc, open Startup apps, and inspect entries connected with the old software. Do not disable an entry merely because its name is unfamiliar. First use Open file location where available and confirm that it points to abandoned video software rather than a current security or business application.
Fix 2: Repair the parent application
Use repair when the program is still installed and Windows offers the option.

- Save your project files and note the application’s installation folder.
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Find the associated editor or slideshow program.
- Open its menu and select Advanced options.
- Select Repair.
- Restart Windows.
- Open the application again.
If the repair completes, the program should start without requesting fs_youtubeupload.dll. Test the feature only after confirming that the main application opens.
If repair is unavailable:
- Close the application.
- Back up project files, exported videos, and custom media.
- Open Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
- Select the old application.
- Choose Uninstall or Change.
- Restart Windows if requested.
- Reinstall using the original installer or a legitimate package supplied by the publisher.
- Right-click the installer and select Run as administrator if the normal installation fails.
- Launch the repaired application from its normal shortcut.
Reinstalling is preferable to copying a replacement DLL because the installer restores the executable, private libraries, configuration, and any required dependencies as a matching set. If the original installer cannot be obtained legitimately, preserve the project and media files and move to a supported video editor instead of using an unverified DLL.

Antivirus software can remove or quarantine an old component, particularly when the application is no longer maintained.
- Open Start > Settings.
- Select Privacy & security > Windows Security.
- Open Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Expand any entry related to the video application or
fs_youtubeupload.dll. - Check the reported file path and action.
Restore or allow the file only when all of these are true:
- The file came from the original application installer.
- Its path is the expected application directory.
- You trust the installer and its source.
- A current security scan does not identify broader malware activity.
- The file matches the application release you are repairing.
Microsoft warns that allowing a genuine threat can expose the computer. When there is any doubt, do not restore the quarantined file. Remove the old application and reinstall it from a trusted original source instead.
A clean scan result does not prove that every copy with this filename is safe. Filename, size, and a reported hash are not enough to establish provenance.

Fix 4: Check architecture and dependencies
A 64-bit Windows installation can run a 32-bit editor. That does not make fs_youtubeupload.dll a 64-bit file. Public metadata identifies the commonly cataloged component as 32-bit, so restore the build supplied with the 32-bit legacy application.
Do not mix a DLL from Fantashow with a DLL from a different Wondershare or Aimersoft release. Different builds can share a filename, and public inventories report conflicting hashes for this file. The safest match is the file delivered by the same original installer.
The message “The specified module could not be found” can also mean that a dependency of fs_youtubeupload.dll is missing. Look carefully at the complete error. If it names another file, repair that dependency rather than replacing the YouTube upload DLL again.
Examples include:
MSVCR*.DLLorMSVCP*.DLL: install the matching x86 Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable generation.d3dx9_*.dll,XInput1_3.dll, orXAudio2_7.dll: install the Microsoft DirectX End-User Runtime.- Another private DLL from the application folder: reinstall the parent application.
Do not assume the current Visual C++ package replaces every older runtime. Install the generation named by the separate missing dependency, and choose the x86 package when the legacy application is 32-bit.

regsvr32 is for DLLs that expose a registration entry point such as DllRegisterServer. There is no public evidence that this upload module is a COM server.
Running a command such as:
regsvr32 fs_youtubeupload.dll
will usually fail with a message that the entry point was not found, or it may create confusion about the real problem. Do not use it unless the application’s documentation specifically requires registration.

Also avoid these common actions:
- Copying the file into
C:WindowsSystem32 - Copying it into
C:WindowsSysWOW64 - Replacing it with a file from a random DLL website
- Renaming a 64-bit DLL to make it appear compatible
- Using registry cleaners or automated DLL repair utilities
Private application DLLs should normally remain beside the executable that loads them. System-folder copying can create version conflicts and makes it harder to identify which application is actually broken.

DISM and SFC do not normally recreate a private third-party application DLL. Use them when Windows itself is unstable, protected system files are failing, or several unrelated applications show corruption.
- Open Start.
- Type
Command Prompt. - Right-click Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for it to finish.
- Run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
- Try the parent application again.
Microsoft recommends running DISM before SFC. If both commands report that they repaired files, test the application. If they report no integrity violations and only this old program fails, return to repairing or reinstalling the parent application.

Use System Restore only when the error clearly began after a known system change and a suitable restore point exists:
- Press
Windows + R. - Type
rstrui.exe. - Press Enter.
- Select a restore point from before the failure.
- Review the affected programs.
- Confirm the restore.
System Restore is not a substitute for preserving current project files.
Fix 7: Update drivers only when evidence points to a driver
A driver is not the primary suspect for a missing application DLL. Consider drivers only if the application also crashes during video playback or rendering, Device Manager reports a problem, or other graphics applications fail.

To inspect drivers:
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters, Sound, video and game controllers, and any category related to a reported device.
- Right-click the affected device.
- Select Properties > Driver.
- Check the device status and driver date.
- Use Update driver > Search automatically for drivers, or obtain the driver from the hardware manufacturer’s official support page.
- Restart Windows and test the application.
Do not update unrelated drivers merely because fs_youtubeupload.dll is missing.

Fix 8: Use YouTube Studio instead of the legacy uploader
DVD Slideshow Builder and related products included direct YouTube sharing, but these applications predate current YouTube authentication and upload requirements. A repaired application may open normally while its upload button still fails.

- Open the old application.
- Export or render the project to a standard video file.
- Sign in to YouTube in a modern browser.
- Open YouTube Studio.
- Select Create > Upload videos.
- Choose the exported video.
- Complete the title, visibility, and publishing steps.
This separates two problems: restoring the old application and using a current upload path. If the project cannot be opened after repair, preserve its media files and project folder before uninstalling the abandoned software.
