fxhbhb.dll is usually associated with a Fuji Xerox printer-driver package, not with Windows itself. If fxhbhb.dll is missing, not found, or could not be loaded, repair the printer software that installed it rather than downloading a loose DLL.
Start with this diagnostic checklist
Before changing Windows files, establish what is actually failing:
- Which program shows the error: a printer installer, print monitor, status utility, scanner utility, launcher, or another application?
- When does it happen: during startup, printing, scanning, installing the printer, or after a Windows or antivirus change?
- Which printer is involved: record the exact Fuji Xerox or FUJIFILM model.
- Which Windows edition and architecture are installed: go to Settings → System → About and check System type.
- Is the DLL present: search for
fxhbhb.dll, but do not move or replace it yet. - Was it quarantined: check Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Protection history.
- Does its path look legitimate: a printer software or driver directory is more credible than a random folder or a Windows system directory.
The filename alone cannot identify the exact printer model, installer, trigger, or application. The most useful clue is the executable named in the error dialog and the directory containing the DLL.
What fxhbhb.dll belongs to
Public file metadata describes fxhbhb.dll as a Printer Driver Module associated with Fuji Xerox. It is best treated as a component of the program that installed it, rather than as a general-purpose Windows DLL.

The available metadata does not provide a dependable current version, size, or architecture record. Some public records describe the file as Win32, while another record conflicts with that description. That is why replacing it with a DLL selected from the internet is unsafe.
A message such as “The specified module could not be found” does not always mean that fxhbhb.dll itself is absent. Windows may have found the named file but failed to load one of its dependencies.
Fix 1: Repair or reinstall the complete printer package
This is the most likely fix and the safest first step.
Identify the installed Fuji Xerox software
- Press Windows key + I.
- Select Apps.
- Open Installed apps on Windows 11, or Apps & features on Windows 10.
- Search for entries containing Fuji Xerox, FUJIFILM, Apeos, the printer model, or printer utility names.
- Note the exact model and package name.
- If the entry offers Advanced options, open it and look for Repair or Reset. Use Repair first when available.
If there is no repair option:
- Select the relevant Fuji Xerox or FUJIFILM application.
- Choose Uninstall.
- Restart Windows.
- Download the complete Windows printer-driver or web-installer package from the official FUJIFILM Business Innovation support page for the exact model.
- Choose the matching Windows version and architecture.
- Right-click the installer and select Run as administrator.
- Follow the printer connection and installation prompts.
- Restart again if requested.
Do not install only a file named fxhbhb.dll. The installer must place the DLL alongside the correct executable, configuration files, drivers, and dependencies.

Check whether the repair worked
Open the application that previously failed and perform the same action that triggered the error. Then print a Windows test page:
- Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners.
- Select the printer.
- Choose Printer properties.
- On the General tab, select Print Test Page.
On Windows 10, open Settings → Devices → Printers & scanners, select the printer, choose Manage, then open Printer properties.

If the test page works but a Fuji Xerox status or scanner utility still fails, the printer driver may be working while that separate utility remains damaged. Repair or reinstall the utility as well.
Fix 2: Confirm the driver and Windows architecture match
A 32-bit printer component can be used by a 32-bit utility even when Windows itself is 64-bit. Installing an unrelated 64-bit DLL does not solve that mismatch.

- Open Settings → System → About.
- Read System type.
- Record whether Windows is 64-bit or 32-bit.
Then check the printer package:
- Return to Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
- Open the Fuji Xerox or FUJIFILM entry if details are available.
- Check its installation folder and package documentation.
- On the manufacturer’s driver page, select the exact Windows architecture rather than accepting a similarly named package.
If the printer is old, remove the incompatible package before installing the replacement:
- Press Windows key + R.
- Enter
printui.exe /s /t2. - Press Enter.
- Open the Drivers tab.
- Select the obsolete Fuji Xerox driver.
- Choose Remove.
- Select Remove driver and driver package when offered.
- Restart Windows.
- Install the correct current package.
Do not remove a driver that is still used by another working printer without checking the printer list first.

Fix 3: Check antivirus quarantine and the file path
Security software may have removed or quarantined a legitimate driver component.

- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Open Protection history.
- Look for an event involving
fxhbhb.dllor the Fuji Xerox installer. - Do not restore the file automatically.
- First confirm that the original installer came from the official manufacturer support page and that the file is in the expected printer software directory.
- If the detection is confirmed as a false positive, use the available restore action.
- Reinstall the complete driver package afterward if the program still fails.
- Run a full scan if the file appeared in an unfamiliar directory or the computer has no Fuji Xerox software history.
Check the digital signature
If the file is present:
- Right-click
fxhbhb.dll. - Select Properties.
- Open Digital Signatures, if that tab exists.
- Select the signature and choose Details.
- Confirm that Windows reports a valid signature.
A missing signature does not prove malware, especially for an old driver, but an unexpected path, a changed file after download, or a failed signature should make you avoid restoring it. Obtain a fresh package from the manufacturer instead.

Fix 4: Investigate a missing dependency
If reinstalling the complete printer package does not help, the named DLL may be present while another DLL prevents it from loading.
Look closely at the error:
- If it names
VCRUNTIME140.dll,MSVCP140.dll, or another Microsoft runtime, install the appropriate official Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. - Match the redistributable architecture to the application that is failing. x86 and x64 packages can coexist.
- If the error still names only
fxhbhb.dll, reinstall the parent printer application before installing unrelated runtimes.
A dependency error can also follow a Windows cleanup utility, antivirus action, incomplete update, or removal of an older printer package. Avoid copying individual runtime files from unofficial sources.
Fix 5: Reinstall through Device Manager
Device Manager can remove a damaged printer device, but it may not remove every vendor utility or driver package.
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Printers, Print queues, and, if relevant, Imaging devices.
- Right-click the affected Fuji Xerox device.
- Select Uninstall device.
- If Windows offers Attempt to remove the driver for this device, select it only when you are sure the driver is not needed by another printer.
- Choose Uninstall.
- Restart Windows.
- Install the exact model-specific package from the manufacturer.
For a printer that remains listed:
- Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners.
- Select the printer.
- Choose Remove.
- Restart Windows.
- Install it again using the manufacturer’s installer.
Windows Update may supply a basic compatible driver, and Microsoft recommends checking it when appropriate. However, a basic driver may not include scanning, status monitoring, fax, finishing, or model-specific controls.
Fix 6: Repair Windows components if other programs are also failing
fxhbhb.dll is reported as a third-party printer component, so Windows repair commands are secondary. Use them when several unrelated applications show missing or corrupted system files, or when Windows itself is behaving abnormally.
- Right-click Start.
- Select Terminal (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for it to complete.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
- Test the printer software again.
DISM and SFC repair Windows components. They should not be expected to recreate a Fuji Xerox DLL that was never part of Windows.

If repeatedly running repair commands is not showing what changed, Outbyte PC Repair can scan for broader Windows issues and identify repair targets; the repair is performed by the full version. It is optional, and reinstalling the printer package remains necessary when the missing file belongs to that package.
Fix 7: Use System Restore or roll back a recent driver
Use this path only when the problem began immediately after a known driver update, Windows change, cleanup operation, or printer migration.
Roll back the device driver
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Printers or Print queues.
- Right-click the printer and select Properties.
- Open the Driver tab.
- Select Roll Back Driver if available.
- Restart Windows and test printing.
Use System Restore
- Press Windows key + R.
- Enter
rstrui.exe. - Press Enter.
- Select a restore point created before the error began.
- Review the affected programs.
- Start the restore and let Windows restart.
System Restore may bring back an older working package, but it does not replace obtaining a supported driver afterward.
Why regsvr32 usually is not the fix
Do not run this as a generic repair:
regsvr32 fxhbhb.dll
regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that expose a registration entry point such as DllRegisterServer. Printer modules and runtime libraries often do not. The result may be an error saying that the entry point was not found, or it may register an unrelated component without repairing the printer installation.
Use the vendor installer instead. Only register a DLL when the software’s official documentation explicitly requires it and identifies the correct file and registration command.

For an end-of-life Fuji Xerox printer:
- Search the official FUJIFILM Business Innovation support area for the exact model and region.
- Check whether an archived Windows package remains available.
- Ask the printer owner or administrator for the original installer if it was previously licensed and preserved.
- Consider a compatible generic Windows or Xerox driver where supported.
A generic driver may restore basic printing but may not provide scanning, fax, status monitoring, finishing, or other model-specific functions.
If the error appears on a computer with no Fuji Xerox history, do not restore fxhbhb.dll. Review Installed apps, startup entries, scheduled tasks, recent downloads, and antivirus results. Its origin is unverified in that situation.

FAQ
Is fxhbhb.dll a Windows system file?
No evidence identifies it as a Windows component. Public metadata associates it with a Fuji Xerox printer-driver module.
Should I download fxhbhb.dll from a DLL website?
