If you want more of 007 First Light, choose a game based on what hooked you: Hitman World of Assassination is the closest match for IO Interactive’s stealth, planning, and replayable missions; Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist leans into the covert-agent fantasy and stealth-action; and Metal Gear Solid is a broader route into tactical espionage. None is a one-to-one substitute for Bond’s mix of spycraft, gadgets, combat, vehicles, and cinematic origin story.
What makes a game feel like 007 First Light?
007 First Light is an original, standalone reimagining of James Bond’s origin. IO Interactive describes its Bond as a 26-year-old Royal Navy air crewman recruited into MI6. Its official descriptions frame the game as a third-person action-adventure, not a pure stealth simulator: players can move quietly or fight, use gadgets, and drive vehicles. PlayStation’s game page presents the choice as “Go silent or go loud.”
IO Interactive’s launch announcement describes several distinct parts of the play: observational spycraft such as eavesdropping and pickpocketing; Bond’s Instinct for luring or bluffing; Q Branch gadgets for hacking, distractions, and quiet takedowns; and close-quarters and ranged combat. It also names Tactical Simulation (TacSim), a replay mode with modifiers, scored missions, and progression unlocks. Those features provide a useful way to pick a follow-up: decide whether you want stealth improvisation, the secret-agent role, tactical espionage, or missions to revisit.
Best games to play after 007 First Light
Hitman World of Assassination: for stealth, planning, and improvisation
This is the most direct recommendation if the appeal of First Light is IO Interactive’s approach to stealth and action. PlayStation explicitly connects its First Light coverage to IOI’s Hitman stealth games, and IOI describes the new Bond game as blending the studio’s signature stealth and action mechanics. That studio lineage makes Hitman World of Assassination a natural next stop for players who like observing a situation, choosing an approach, and improvising when a plan changes.

It is a studio-family recommendation, not a claim that the games share identical pacing, mission structure, or stealth rules. Pick it for the stealth-and-planning side of Bond rather than expecting the same character, story, or full mix of gadgets, vehicles, and action.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist: for covert-agent stealth action
Blacklist is the clearest fit if you want to play as a covert operative in a stealth-action thriller. Ubisoft describes Sam Fisher confronting a terrorist group’s escalating attacks, making this a genre and premise match for players drawn to the covert-agent side of First Light.

Ubisoft’s page lists PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U. It also says online features, including multiplayer and co-op, are no longer supported. These are the details Ubisoft currently states; the page does not establish whether the game is available from a particular regional storefront, so check your local listings before buying.
Metal Gear Solid: for tactical espionage
Metal Gear Solid is an optional path if what you want is tactical espionage, stealth, and a distinctive cinematic style. Treat it as a series recommendation, not a single consistent experience: the games vary, and the exact entry, edition, and platform matter. Konami’s collection page did not provide usable descriptive detail without an age prompt, so verify the specific release through current official listings before choosing one.

In short, start with Hitman for the closest developer connection, Blacklist for a covert-agent stealth-action frame, or a specific Metal Gear Solid entry if tactical espionage is the priority. These are different routes into the genre, not replacements for every part of Bond’s toolkit.

IO Interactive’s May 2026 launch announcement scheduled 007 First Light for May 27, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with Nintendo Switch 2 following in Summer 2026. A later official support page lists the Switch 2 release as March 2027, so that later schedule supersedes the earlier summer window. Release plans can change.

The support page lists Standard, Specialist, Collector’s, and Legacy editions; it says the Collector’s Edition includes a lifesize mask prop replica. PlayStation’s US page listed the standard game at $69.99 and the Deluxe Edition at $79.99 when checked, as well as a limited-edition 007 First Light DualSense controller.
