What it is
Killing Floor is a cooperative survival horror first-person shooter from Tripwire Interactive, released in 2009. Set in England after military cloning experiments go wrong, it sends players into devastated cities and countryside to survive waves of failed experiments. Co-op supports up to six players, and a solo mode is available for offline play. Teams can choose Perks, use medical tools, welders, and body armor, and decide where to fight across open, non-linear areas. The game lists ten monster types and more than 33 weapons, from knives and fire-axes to shotguns, rifles, and a flamethrower. Its Perks system turns in-game achievements into lasting character skill improvements, while ZEDtime adds slow-motion moments during combat. Steam features include multiplayer, co-op, cross-platform multiplayer, Workshop, achievements, stats, and a level editor. Killing Floor is listed for Windows, Linux, and macOS, with a Steam age rating of 17.
