What it is
Maneater is a single-player action RPG in which you play as a shark growing from a pup into a powerful predator. Explore coastal waters and hunt wildlife and human opponents as you work toward revenge on the fisherman who dismembered you. Feeding helps your shark grow, while resources and shark loot support evolution along different paths so you can shape it to your play style.
The story campaign is narrated by Chris Parnell and framed as a reality TV show. Its world spans seven regions, including bayous, resort beaches, industrial docks and open ocean, with a day-and-night cycle. Encounters range from wildlife, including other apex predators, to human hunters such as the Coast Guard. Maneater is developed and published by Tripwire Interactive.
