What it is
Pacific General is a turn-based strategy game about the Pacific front of the Second World War. Players command Axis or Allied forces across land, air and naval battles, including historical engagements such as Midway. The campaigns also include a hypothetical Axis path in which Japanese forces triumph in the East. Its hex-based turns let players focus on land, air or naval dominance while coordinating forces across battlefields. Army customization and upgrades draw on more than 18 vehicle and infantry classes. Four modes are listed: Campaign, Battle Generator, Scenarios and Local Multiplayer. Steam features list single-player, Steam Cloud and Family Sharing. The game was developed by Strategic Simulations and is listed for Windows. Its genre and modes point to a deliberate pace, with planning and force coordination at the center rather than real-time action.
