What it is
Prophecy of the Shadow is a single-character fantasy role-playing game built around a foretold threat from the Shadow Lord. The Magic Council sends the player on a quest through wilderness, hamlets, castles, catacombs, and dungeons. Its world includes magic, puzzles, and real-time combat, and the Steam description also points to a treacherous death and a setting where magic is illegal. Players learn spells and converse with characters through an icon-based interface. The game offers three viewpoints: an exploration and combat view, a closer view for conversations, and an eagle’s-eye perspective accessed through magic. Its presentation includes more than fifty digitized art and animation sequences. Strategic Simulations developed the game, and SNEG publishes it. The Steam release is single-player on Windows, with Steam Cloud and Family Sharing listed.
