What it is
Port Royale 2 is a business simulation game from Ascaron, set in the Caribbean during the 17th century. Players trade with more than 60 towns, establish production facilities and expand a trading empire while influencing the development of the New World. Pirates and military fleets threaten trade convoys, so players can use escort ships or hunt pirates and capture military vessels. Missions come from merchants, diplomats and other characters; missions for the Vice Kings involve attacking and conquering enemy towns. The game has four nations, 16 ship types and options to construct houses and special-function buildings, create towns, and oversee them. Wars can lead to towns being conquered. Introductory scenarios explain important features, and eight special scenarios offer quick starts. Port Royale 2 is single-player, with Family Sharing listed, and is available for Windows. The Steam genre is Strategy.
