What it is
Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII is a historical simulation strategy game in which players guide a hero seeking power across China during the era of Wei, Wu and Shu. This Steam edition includes the Power Up Kit expanded version. Players select from eight roles, including ruler, strategist or leader of a volunteer force, then advance themselves and their force through assignments. Those duties can involve domestic and foreign affairs as well as battles. The game also includes personal events in a hero’s life, such as marriage and relationships with brothers or rivals. Steam lists single-player, cloud saves and Family Sharing, and the Steam release is for Windows. Its role choices place players in different positions within the political and military struggle, rather than limiting them to a single ruler’s perspective.
