Runaway: A Road Adventure is a single-player adventure game by Pendulo Studios. Set in New York in 2000, it follows Brian, a college student attacked by Mafia gangsters shortly before graduation. During his escape with a mysterious dancer, he encounters unusual characters and must work out who can be trusted amid a story involving murder, money, ambition, Santeria rituals and deception. The game describes roughly 100 settings and 30 interactive characters. Its visual presentation combines cartoon-styled 3D characters with 2D and 3D elements, along with lighting and shading effects, camera changes and panoramic shots.
