What it is
Sniper Elite III is a tactical third-person shooter set in North Africa during World War II. As a sniper hunting Germany’s Afrika Korps, you move through canyons, oases and ancient cities while working to disrupt a weapons programme. Its large, multi-route levels offer primary and secondary objectives that can be tackled in different orders, leaving room to choose how each mission unfolds. Stealth, distractions, traps and sound masking help you control encounters; if enemies spot you, the Relocate mechanic lets you withdraw and resume the hunt elsewhere. Shooting accounts for distance, gravity, wind and heart rate, while the X-ray kill cam shows damage in detail. You can play alone or in multiplayer and co-op. Steam features include achievements, full controller support, cloud saves, leaderboards, trading cards, Remote Play on TV and Family Sharing. The game was developed and published by Rebellion and released in 2014 for Windows and PlayStation 3; its Steam release is for Windows.
