What it is
Sniper Elite is a tactical shooter from Rebellion Developments, set in Berlin as World War II ends and the Cold War begins. You play an American OSS sniper operating undercover behind enemy lines, tasked with stopping Soviet forces from obtaining Germany’s nuclear secrets. Its single-player campaign has 28 missions, with non-linear play that can make a mission unfold differently on another run. Shooting accounts for factors such as wind, gravity, posture, heart rate and breathing. The game shifts between a third-person view for movement and close encounters and a first-person view for aiming. A multi-angle Bullet Cam shows shots after they land. The game also includes eight-player LAN battles in Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Assassination modes. Sniper Elite was released in 2005 and is listed for Microsoft Windows and Wii; its Steam version lists Windows. Steam features include single-player, trading cards and Family Sharing.
