Tales of Arise is an action role-playing game about Alphen and Shionne, whose struggle is tied to the divided Renan and Dahnan peoples. The story follows the pair and their companions as they face hardship and fight to liberate people after 300 years of tyranny. The world of Dahna includes varied natural environments whose appearance changes with the time of day. Players can traverse rocky terrain, swim in rivers, gather at campfires, cook, and visit towns between battles. Combat uses Artes, Boost Attacks, and Boost Strike combos that let party members chain powerful attacks together. Its graphics use an anime- and watercolor-inspired shader, and animated sequences appear at key moments in the story. Developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, the game was released on November 8, 2023. It is available on Windows, with single-player play, full controller support, Steam Cloud, and support for DualShock and DualSense controllers.
