What it is
Tribes: Ascend is a multiplayer first-person shooter from Hi-Rez Studios, built around fast movement, jetpacks and class-based teamwork. Players can ski by holding the space bar to build momentum across large maps, use jetpacks for aerial movement, and choose from up to nine classes with distinct weapons and abilities. Class experience unlocks skills and perks, and experience earned with one class can contribute to progress for others. Matches also use credits earned for attacking enemies or supporting objectives; these can fund base defenses, vehicles or tactical strikes, so battles can grow more intense as they continue. The listed environments include frozen wastelands, cities and mountains, and vehicles include the Beowulf tank, Grav Cycle and Shrike. Steam lists multiplayer and co-op features. The game is listed for Windows, and its Steam genres include Action and Free To Play.
