What it is
Tropico 5 is a construction and management simulation from Haemimont Games, set on the island nation of Tropico. Players guide a dynasty from the colonial period through later eras, each with its own challenges and opportunities. Members of El Presidente’s family can take roles such as ruler, manager, ambassador or general, and investment can unlock traits for them. The game also covers research and renovation, trade routes for imports and exports, and exploration beyond the island’s fog of war to find resources and ruins. For the first time in the series, it includes cooperative and competitive multiplayer for up to four players. Steam lists single-player, multiplayer, co-op, cross-platform multiplayer, achievements, trading cards, Workshop, Cloud, a level editor and Family Sharing. The listed platforms are Windows and Linux; the general platform information also lists macOS.
