GameSir announced it on July 10, 2024—not as a new 2026 launch—and lists Hall Effect sticks and triggers, Android support, and compatibility with devices 110–215 mm long. The headline alone does not establish a specific model, so check the model name before buying.
Which GameSir controller is this?
GameSir’s official G8 Plus announcement is the strongest documented match for a Bluetooth Android controller with Hall Effect sticks. It dates to July 10, 2024, so “new” should not be read as a 2026 release claim. A separate result mentions an X5s, but its source is gamesirz.com and its relationship to GameSir is unverified; that is not enough to identify it as the model in the headline.
What GameSir specifies for the G8 Plus
- Connection and platforms: GameSir describes Bluetooth support for Switch, iOS, Android, tablets, and PC. That broad platform list does not guarantee that every game or device will handle inputs the same way; check compatibility for your setup.
- Stick and trigger sensors: GameSir specifies Hall Effect sticks, rated for up to 5 million cycles, and Hall Effect triggers. The cycle figure is a manufacturer rating, not an independent durability test or a promise that drift cannot occur.
- Device fit: The stated compatible device length is 110–215 mm (4.33–8.46 inches). Compare that range with your phone or tablet and check how its case affects fit.
How it differs from the GameSir G7 Pro
The G7 Pro is a different product, not another name for the G8 Plus. GameSir’s G7 Pro announcement describes a tri-mode Xbox/PC/Android controller with Bluetooth connectivity on Android and Mag-Res TMR sticks. The G8 Plus, by contrast, is presented as a Bluetooth mobile controller with Hall Effect sticks. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent comparative test results.
Availability and what to check before buying
In its 2024 announcement, GameSir named Amazon among the G8 Plus’s planned retail channels. That historical mention does not establish current price, stock, or availability in your region. Verify the exact model and current listing details with the retailer, then confirm your device’s dimensions and the compatibility of the games you intend to play.
