When did Gears of War: Reloaded come out?
Gears of War: Reloaded launched on August 26, 2025. The date in the original announcement is now in the past; this is a released game, not an upcoming one. Xbox Wire announced the release date, and its launch-day report confirmed the release.

What is included in Gears of War: Reloaded?
Reloaded remasters the original 2006 Gears of War. The Coalition developed it in partnership with Sumo Digital and Disbelief. Its content includes the full breadth of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, including the bonus campaign act, multiplayer maps and modes, and characters and cosmetics that can be unlocked through progression. The Steam listing says these additions are included at no extra cost. Steam’s official listing describes it as a third-person cover shooter.
The story follows Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago as they join Delta Squad to fight the subterranean Locust, whose invasion has left the planet in ruin. You can play the campaign solo or in online co-op, then take on other players in Versus modes.

Which platforms can you play it on, and what did it cost at launch?
At launch, the game was released for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, PlayStation 5 and Steam. Xbox Wire announced a suggested retail price of $39.99 at launch and said the game was included on day one with Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass. Those are historical launch details, not a quote of current store prices or Game Pass availability; check the relevant store or catalog for current terms. Xbox owners who had purchased the digital version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition before the announcement cutoff were eligible for a free upgrade. That was a time-limited offer and should not be treated as currently claimable.

How do co-op, multiplayer and cross-play work?
The campaign supports two-player online co-op. Versus multiplayer supports up to eight players. Cross-play lets players on Xbox, PlayStation and Steam play together. To form cross-platform parties, players must sign in with a Microsoft account; signing in also enables cross-progression, including campaign-save and multiplayer-progression carryover. The documented campaign co-op is online. The available official details do not establish split-screen campaign co-op, so do not assume local split-screen is supported. On PlayStation, online console multiplayer requires PlayStation Plus, sold separately, according to PlayStation’s product page. Steam lists broadband internet as a minimum requirement.

What performance and platform-specific features does it offer?
Xbox Wire lists a 4K presentation, a 60 FPS campaign and multiplayer at up to 120 FPS, alongside HDR, Dolby Vision and Atmos, 7.1 3D spatial audio, variable refresh rate, remastered textures and visual effects, and no campaign loading screens. These are publisher-stated features, not a promise that every system runs every mode at the same resolution or frame rate. Steam separately advertises up to 144 FPS for PC and notes that 4K, HDR and high frame rates depend on capable hardware. Xbox Wire’s announcement and Steam’s listing describe their respective features.
PlayStation 5
The PS5 version supports DualSense haptic feedback, controller-speaker audio and adaptive triggers. PlayStation also lists PlayStation Super Spectral Resolution support and improved shadow and reflection quality on PS5 Pro. These are platform features, not requirements for playing the game. PC
Steam lists ultrawide support, a benchmark mode, variable refresh rate, mouse and keyboard support, FSR 3.1, DLSS 3.5 Super Resolution and controller remapping. Its minimum requirements are Windows 10 (19H2), 8 GB RAM, DirectX 12 and 70 GB of available storage. The storage figure and requirements are those shown on Steam’s listing accessed October 8, 2026; check the live listing before installing in case they change. Steam’s listing also notes that higher resolutions and frame rates require suitable hardware.
