Historical update: On August 22, 2024, NVIDIA added Xbox account automatic sign-in to GeForce NOW, brought Black Myth: Wukong and the FINAL FANTASY XVI PC demo to the service, and announced 23 more game additions. The update also included a Warsaw data center announcement. Xbox sign-in applies to supported PC Game Pass and Microsoft Store PC games—not the full Xbox console catalog—and GeForce NOW does not provide the games or Game Pass entitlement.
What changed in the August 22, 2024 update?
NVIDIA’s announcement covered several separate changes: Xbox account automatic sign-in, new games, and service infrastructure. It also mentioned Indiana Jones and the Great Circle as a future GeForce NOW release, not as a game available that day. NVIDIA’s announcement is a historical snapshot; game availability and service details can change.
- Xbox automatic sign-in: Members could link an Xbox account once and use it to sign in automatically when launching supported Xbox PC Game Pass or Microsoft Store PC games.
- New games: Black Myth: Wukong, the FINAL FANTASY XVI PC demo, and 23 other titles were announced as additions—25 games in total.
- Warsaw data center: NVIDIA announced a new data center in Warsaw, Poland. Its potential latency benefit is regional and depends on a player’s location and network route.
- Later release: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was announced for a later cloud release. It should not be counted among the games playable on August 22.
How Xbox automatic sign-in works
Linking an Xbox account is a convenience feature for supported PC games. It can spare you from repeatedly entering Xbox credentials when starting an eligible PC Game Pass or Microsoft Store game. It is not Xbox Cloud Gaming, does not make every console title available on GeForce NOW, and does not include a Game Pass subscription.

- Go to Settings, then Connections.
- Select the Xbox connection, sign in with the Microsoft account that has the relevant entitlement, and authorize linking.
- Launch a supported Xbox PC Game Pass or Microsoft Store PC game. The linked account should sign in automatically where that game uses the supported authentication flow.
NVIDIA documents the feature in its GeForce NOW release highlights and says users may need to reconnect an account if it has been several months since linking. Menu labels can vary somewhat by client. If a supported game still asks you to sign in, check that you launched the right store version, that the linked account has the entitlement, and that the game does not use separate publisher authentication. Other storefronts such as Steam or Epic may require their own connection or login.

Account linking and library sync are related but distinct. A title may not appear automatically even if you can launch it through a supported store, and not every game in a store or subscription catalog is supported by GeForce NOW. NVIDIA’s service connects to supported storefronts and subscriptions; it does not turn their entire catalogs into a universal cloud library. Check NVIDIA’s current service and game information before relying on a particular title.
Playing Black Myth: Wukong through GeForce NOW
NVIDIA’s August 2024 announcement listed the game’s Steam and Epic Games Store versions. To play, you need a GeForce NOW account, access to a compatible membership or available access option, and the game entitlement on a supported store. GeForce NOW supplies a remote gaming session and streams it to your device; it does not give you the game for free.

NVIDIA highlighted the Ultimate membership’s advertised capabilities for the game: full ray tracing, DLSS 3, up to 4K resolution, and up to 120 frames per second. Treat those as tier- and setup-dependent capabilities, not a promise of continuous 4K/120 performance on every device or connection. Resolution, frame rate, graphics features, latency, and image quality depend on the client device, network, service conditions, and game settings. Who benefits most?
The Xbox integration is most useful to someone who already has PC Game Pass or a supported Microsoft Store PC game and wants to play it using GeForce NOW’s remote hardware. It reduces sign-in friction; it does not replace the game or subscription entitlement. At the time of the announcement, NVIDIA described the integration as covering more than 140 PC Game Pass titles. That was a period-specific catalog figure, not a current count.
GeForce NOW can also suit players who own supported Steam or Epic games but lack a powerful local gaming PC, including people playing on supported Macs, phones, tablets, TVs, or other devices. Whether it works well for you depends on your device, network route, bandwidth, and latency. NVIDIA’s system guidance recommends less than 80 ms latency to a data center and lists bandwidth needs that rise with resolution and frame rate; even adequate bandwidth does not guarantee a stable stream. Wired Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi can help, but neither is a substitute for a good connection to the service.

It is a poor fit if you expect Xbox console streaming, every PC Game Pass game, offline play, or guaranteed high-end performance regardless of your setup. Membership tiers, device support, game compatibility, and regional availability can change. Check the current release notes and system requirements alongside the live game listing before making a decision.
