Start at the Ochkanatlan Statue of the Seven, solve the tower’s wall-mark and movable-box puzzles, collect three Secret Source Scraps in Ashflow Street, then face the dragon first with Cocouik and later in its lair.
How to start City Buried by Ash

Travel to the Statue of the Seven in Ochkanatlan. Its ground-level door is closed, so reach the upper level either through the Qucusaurus portal on the left or by climbing the building.

Interact with the mechanism inside to start the quest, then unlock the Statue of the Seven. The quest begins at this statue, and unlocking it starts the series’ first act.
Enter the tower
Follow the quest marker toward the city. At the closed tower entrance, take the stairs on the left and use the upper entry prompt to go inside. You can bypass the enemies on the approach.

Solve the tower puzzles
Remove the first cube and take the elevator
Use the Iktomisaurus’s Spiritspeaker state to scan the wall mark and remove the cube. Operate the lever, then take the elevator down.
Unstick the door in the left room
Enter the room on the left and scan its marked wall. Use the Iktomisaurus ability to place the box beneath the stuck door, leaving enough room to pass through.
Keep the first doorway open

Operate the lever to open the first doorway and go through it.

Scan the mark on the left wall and place the cube in the first doorway.

Return to the lever. The second doorway opens, while the cube prevents the first door from closing.
Leave the tower after meeting Bona and Cocouik
After meeting Bona and Cocouik, the story returns you to the tower’s first area. Break the Abyssal source blocking the exit, then leave.

Collect the Secret Source Scraps in Ashflow Street
In Ashflow Street, break the Abyssal sources and collect all three Secret Source Scraps marked on the map. Nearby enemies do not need to be defeated to collect the scraps.
Defeat the dragon
First encounter: use Cocouik
During the first encounter, shoot at the dragon with Cocouik and use the defense action against its fireballs.

Follow-up fight: break the shield with elemental attacks
Continue to the dragon’s lair for the follow-up fight. Use elemental attacks to break its shield before trying to deal damage. Beebom’s walkthrough reports that the dragon leaves at around 20% health; treat that as the guide’s reported threshold, not a guaranteed trigger.
