To complete The Chi of Guyun—now referenced as The Chi of Yore—collect three fragments, open the vault beside the waterfall in Qingce Village, and defend the Qingce Cache from five ruin machines. The two statue puzzles use different rules: the western hill uses a five-direction sequence, while the summit puzzle selects four statues by landmark and clockwise position.
How to start The Chi of Yore
The quest takes place around Qingce Village and Wuwang Hill in Bishui Plain. Its earlier name, The Chi of Guyun, remains common in player searches; guides report the title change in Version 1.6. You can speak with Yan’er near the ruins south of Wuwang Hill, or begin by finding one of the fragments. Afterward, ask a local in Qingce Village about it and speak with Granny Ruoxin near the village’s eastern teleport point. Get the first fragment at the ruin
- Find Yan’er near the ruin in Bishui Plain, south of Wuwang Hill. She may not have a blue quest marker, so speak with her directly and continue the dialogue.
- In the search area, locate the three statues near the large amber-colored crystal formations and activate all three.
- Open the chest that appears in the center to collect the first fragment.
A Ruin Hunter is in the area. One walkthrough describes defeating it as optional for this step, although it may obstruct access to the chest. GameWith’s quest walkthrough
Find the second fragment: western Geo Statue order
Travel to the hill shrine just south of Qingce Village’s western teleport point. This puzzle has five statues. Activate them in this exact order:

Find the third fragment: summit statue order
Climb to the highest point on the mountain east of Qingce Village. There are eight statues, but activate only four. First identify the statue facing Stormterror’s Lair, then count clockwise from it and activate that statue followed by the third, fourth, and sixth statues in the clockwise sequence.

Granny Ruoxin’s summit clue reads: “Here stands this statue, to watch in each direction: the wind-swept ruin, the snow-capped peak, the adepti’s abode, and the city of Liyue…” The landmarks are Stormterror’s Lair, Dragonspine, Mt. Open the waterfall-side vault
- Return to Granny Ruoxin with all three fragments.
- Follow the marked search area to the waterfall. The vault entrance is beside it.
- At the gate, insert all three fragments to open the way.
- Defeat the Treasure Hoarders in the first chamber, then activate the Qingce Cache.
Protect the Qingce Cache
The defense consists of three waves: one Ruin Guard, then three Ruin Guards, then one Ruin Hunter. Defeat all five enemies while preventing the cache from being destroyed. Falling rocks also cause area damage during the challenge. GameWith’s defense walkthrough
- Draw enemies away from the cache where possible so their attacks are less likely to damage it.
- Use control effects or accurate ranged attacks if they suit your characters and available team.
- Watch for falling rocks as well as enemy attacks.
Character choices are tactical suggestions, not quest requirements. Once the defense is complete, continue into the treasure room, collect the loot, and report back to Granny Ruoxin. GameWith’s quest walkthrough
