But the official character pages available here confirm her role without explaining why she is human or how Natlan’s Archon office is filled. So the factual answer is narrower than the title’s premise: Mavuika is Natlan’s Archon, but the cited official material does not establish the reason she is the only human Archon.
Who is Natlan’s Archon?
It is Mavuika. HoYoverse’s Natlan character page describes her as “Natlan’s Archon and leader.” HoYoverse’s Mavuika character introduction, published December 26, 2024, identifies her as the current Pyro Archon of Natlan.
Her official character notes also associate her with the Ancient Name Kiongozi. Those notes, published July 5, 2025, identify her as Pyro Archon Mavuika and call her heir to that Ancient Name. The page is in Spanish, so its wording should not be treated as an English quotation. Read HoYoverse’s character notes.
Do the official pages explain why she is human?
Not in the material cited here. The pages establish Mavuika’s identity and office, but do not explain her human origin or give a complete account of how Natlan chooses or succeeds its Archon. That means they support the first part of the question—who Natlan’s Archon is—but not a definitive causal explanation for why she is human.

In a June 7, 2026 article, HoYoverse points readers to the Archon Quest “As All Falls to Emptiness” for further stories about Mavuika. The article does not reproduce the quest’s relevant lore, so it is a pointer to the in-game story, not an explanation of her humanity or Natlan’s succession process. To establish a fuller answer, the relevant quest dialogue and sequence need to be read directly in-game. Without that evidence, it would be misleading to present a specific succession rule or explain Natlan’s distinction as settled fact.
