The mystery was later solved at The Game Awards 2025: the statue pointed to Divinity, a new game from Larian Studios set in Rivellon.
What Jason Schreier said about the statue
On December 1, 2025, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier wrote on ResetEra that the statue was not connected to the rumored Diablo 4 expansion. Push Square reproduced his post on December 6: “No idea where Jez is getting that, but this statue is not teasing the Diablo 4 expansion. (I don’t currently plan on reporting what it is, sorry, but it’s a good one.)” Push Square’s report
Schreier’s denial was about what the statue was teasing. It did not rule out Diablo 4 appearing elsewhere during the show. And “it’s a good one” was Schreier’s own description, not a review or a claim about how the eventual game would be received.
What the TGA statue actually teased
The Game Awards answered the question on December 11, 2025, with the world-premiere trailer for Divinity, identifying it as the next game from Larian Studios. The Game Awards’ official trailer
