Beauty in Ghost of Tsushima is a matter of taste, not a score the game assigns. This subjective ranking weighs color, composition, atmosphere, and how each place adds a distinct sense of place—from quiet lakeside scenes to snowbound northern temples. The game draws inspiration from real Tsushima, but its landscapes are fictionalized; real-world sites and in-game locations are not interchangeable.

10. Komoda Beach

Komoda Beach earns its place for the breadth of its coastal view. The open shoreline offers a visual change of pace from the island’s enclosed groves, temples, and forest paths, while its place in the opening gives the coast a strong connection to the game’s story.

There is a real Komoda Beach on Tsushima, described by the official tourism site for its sea views and white sand. That resemblance is useful context, not proof that the game reproduces the real beach one-to-one: Tsushima Tourism.

9. Iki Island’s coast and forests

Iki is a strong pick for variety rather than one signature view. Its coasts and forests broaden the game’s palette and give exploration a different environmental character. PlayStation describes Iki as a new island with new environments and story content: Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut announcement.

These locations require access to the Iki Island expansion. PlayStation’s Director’s Cut listing includes the expansion; check the listing for your platform and region for current edition details: Director’s Cut on PlayStation Store.

8. The red spider lily fields

The red spider lily fields make the list through color alone: vivid red blooms create a striking contrast with the island’s greens, golds, and snow. Their appeal here is visual and atmospheric; the ranking does not assign the flowers an unsupported cultural meaning.

7. Jogaku Temple and Lake

Jogaku Temple and its lake bring a wintry counterpoint to the warmer entries. Snow changes the shapes and colors that dominate the view, giving the temple setting a quiet, spare atmosphere. The exact appearance of a screenshot can vary with in-game conditions, so think of this as the appeal of the northern, snow-covered setting rather than a guaranteed view in every visit.

6. Cloud Ridge Shrine

Cloud Ridge Shrine stands out for its elevated approach and sense of scale. The climb makes the destination feel earned, and the surrounding height gives the visit a different composition from the more intimate groves and lakeside scenes. Shrine guides place it in Toyotama; PlayStation’s exploration guide also describes how animals and environmental cues can lead players toward special landmarks: GameSpot’s shrine locations guide and PlayStation’s exploration guide.

Ghost Of Tsushima (PS4)
  • In war-torn tsushima, ancient beauty endures: in this open-world action adventure, you'll roam vast countryside and expansive terrain to encounter rich characters, discover ancient landmarks, and uncover the hidden beauty of tsushima.
  • the rise of the Ghost. In his quest to reclaim tsushima, Jin must seek support from old friends and new unlikely allies. He must break away from tradition, become a new kind of warrior, and protect what's left of his home at all costs.
  • mud, Blood, and steel, challenge opponents with your katana for an immersive Samurai combat experience, master the bow to eliminate distant threats, and develop stealth tactics to disorient and ambush enemies with surprise attacks

5. Tadayori’s Rest

Tadayori’s Rest is the pick for a composed, flower-forward view. Its color and painterly feel make it especially appealing if you prefer a smaller, more deliberately framed scene over a broad vista. It works on its own terms as an in-game location; there is no need to claim it recreates a particular real-world site.

4. Akashima Village and its wetlands

Akashima offers a welcome change of visual texture: settlement, water, and lowland vegetation share the scene. That mix makes the village and wetlands feel distinct from the mountainous and forested entries, and gives the ranking a grounded, lived-in setting between its more dramatic natural landmarks.

3. Golden Forest and Golden Temple

Golden Forest is one of the game’s clearest color statements: bright autumnal foliage turns the landscape into a sea of gold. The nearby Golden Temple adds a recognizable landmark and a sense of refuge, so the appeal is both environmental and architectural. PlayStation identifies the temple as an early landmark and safe haven, with information and vendors for players: PlayStation’s exploration guide.

2. Omi Monastery

Omi Monastery is a more intimate choice than the open lakes and coast. The monastery and nearby hilltop cemetery give the area a contemplative mood, with a human presence that changes the feel of the surrounding landscape. The location guide places Omi Monastery south of Omi Village: GameSpot’s location guide.

1. Omi Lake and the Sakai cemetery

Omi Lake is the most complete visual scene in this ranking. Water, shoreline, trees, and the nearby Sakai family burial ground combine into a quiet composition that is beautiful without feeling detached from the story. The red tree, cherry blossoms, and mountain backdrop give the area memorable color and depth; the cemetery adds emotional weight to the view.

Players have also mentioned Omi Lake and Omi Monastery when discussing favorite scenic places, but those comments are anecdotal, not evidence of a universal consensus. This top spot reflects the ranking’s preference for a location where atmosphere, framing, and story reinforce one another.

How to find and revisit scenic places

Exploration is part of the pleasure: PlayStation says the Guiding Wind, animals, and visible environmental cues can direct players toward points of interest and special landmarks. Once an area or point of interest has been discovered, Fast Travel lets you return, making it easier to revisit a view without repeating the route. See PlayStation’s exploration guide for its overview of landmarks and exploration.
