Glorious’ new mouse is the Model O3 Wireless, part of its V3 range. Its hot-swappable component is the battery, not the buttons: two removable battery packs can be exchanged while the mouse stays connected through Glorious’ Guardian Battery System. The $159.99 mouse combines that continuous-play system with a 30,000-DPI sensor and up to 8,000Hz wireless polling, but the convenience carries a substantial premium.
What the Model O3 Wireless actually is
The Model O3 Wireless is a symmetrical, right-handed mouse designed for palm, claw and fingertip grips. It supports 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth and wired USB-C connections. Glorious describes the shell as symmetrical rather than fully ambidextrous, so left-handed buyers should check whether the button layout and physical shape suit them.
The headline feature is InfinitePlay: two external battery packs, a charging station and a built-in Guardian Battery System intended to bridge battery changes without disconnecting the mouse. The box includes both batteries, the charging base, an 8KHz wireless dongle and a braided USB-C cable. - Use the mouse over 2.4GHz wireless.
- When the installed pack is low, eject it from the rear of the mouse.
- Insert the charged replacement pack.
- Glorious says the Guardian reserve keeps the connection alive for more than 10 hours while the main battery is removed.
- Put the depleted pack on the charging station.
- Repeat the swap whenever necessary.
This is different from a conventional rechargeable mouse, where you normally attach a cable or stop using the mouse while it charges. It also does not mean the setup needs no power: the charging station must remain available, and at least one battery has to be kept charged. Glorious’ “never plug in” proposition is best understood as not needing to plug the mouse itself in during ordinary battery changes.

The Guardian runtime is a manufacturer claim, not an independently guaranteed result. If the reserve is depleted, the replacement is not charged, or a pack is not fully seated, the uninterrupted-swap promise can fail. The supplied packs are dedicated accessories; Glorious does not document them as standard AA or AAA batteries.
It does not have hot-swappable buttons
The Model O3 Wireless has six remappable buttons, meaning their software functions can be changed. They are not physically interchangeable button or switch modules. Glorious lists fixed optical switches rated for 130 million clicks, and its official materials provide no evidence that users can replace those switches without opening the mouse.
The accurate description is therefore: Glorious launched a gaming mouse with hot-swappable batteries—not hot-swappable buttons.

All figures in the table come from Glorious’ product information. The 71-hour and 130-hour figures are “up to” ratings that vary with polling rate, lighting, connection mode and use; they are not guaranteed runtimes at maximum settings. The 130-million-click figure is a switch-life rating from the manufacturer, not a tested lifespan.
What 8,000Hz polling means in practice
At 8,000Hz, the mouse can report its position to the computer up to 8,000 times per second instead of the conventional 1,000Hz rate. The lower report interval can matter most to competitive players using high-refresh-rate displays and hardware capable of processing the extra reports.
- It does not automatically improve aim or make every system feel better.
- Higher polling can increase CPU workload and generally makes battery runtime more important.
- Glorious lists 8,000Hz as a 2.4GHz wireless feature. Wired operation is listed at 1,000Hz, so the headline polling figure is not universal across every connection.

Why the battery system can be useful—and where it falls short
Advantages
- A depleted pack can be replaced without pausing a game to attach a cable.
- The base gives the spare pack a dedicated charging location.
- Regularly rotating packs can reduce dependence on a permanently sealed battery as it ages.
- The Guardian reserve is designed to prevent a disconnect during the swap.
- Players who dislike cable drag or charging routines get genuinely continuous wireless operation.
Costs and compromises
- The $159.99 price is high compared with wired mice and many conventional wireless models.
- At 66g with a battery, it is heavier than the 54g wired Model O3.
- The charging base takes desk space and must be maintained.
- A lost or damaged proprietary pack is less convenient than plugging in a standard USB cable.
- Battery life changes with polling rate, RGB, wireless mode and usage.
- Users who already charge a mouse overnight may gain little from the system.
The battery design is a continuity and convenience feature, not an improvement to sensor accuracy or click performance.

Both versions share the symmetrical shape, BAMF 3.0 30K sensor, 130-million-click optical-switch rating, six remappable buttons, 750 IPS and 50G ratings, and PTFE feet. The current collection lists the wired model at $69.99, while another Glorious guide has shown $64.99; prices can change, so verify the live listing before buying at Glorious’ V3 collection.
Choose the wired O3 if you want the same core sensor and switch claims at substantially lower cost, prefer the lightest version, and do not need cable-free use. Choose the wireless model when uninterrupted wireless operation and 8,000Hz 2.4GHz polling justify the premium.

Model O3 Wireless versus Model D3 Wireless
The Model D3 Wireless uses the same V3 platform, including the BAMF 3.0 sensor, optical switches, InfinitePlay batteries and up to 8,000Hz wireless polling. Its key difference is the shell: the O3 is symmetrical and right-handed, while the D3 is a right-handed ergonomic design. Glorious lists the D3 at $159.99, with a weight of approximately 69g with battery in its 2026 guide.
The D3 makes sense for right-handed palm or claw users who prefer ergonomic support. The O3 is the better match for buyers who specifically want a symmetrical shape. Neither should be treated as automatically suitable for every hand size or left-handed grip.

PC Gamer reports the core specifications, two battery packs and charging hub alongside the $160 price. GamesRadar praised the convenience of hot-swappable batteries but questioned whether the feature justified $159.99, suggesting the mouse would be more compelling at a considerably lower price. RTINGS considers it particularly suitable for MMO use while noting that six buttons are far fewer than the side-button arrays on dedicated MMO mice.

That is the central buying tension: the battery system is distinctive and practical, but it solves a charging inconvenience at a price that exceeds many capable wireless alternatives.
Software, charging and compatibility details
Wired fallback
The mouse can operate over USB-C, including while connected by cable. That fallback is separate from InfinitePlay, whose purpose is to avoid cable use during a battery swap. Wired polling is listed at 1,000Hz.
Operating systems
Glorious lists mouse compatibility with Windows, macOS and Linux, but Glorious CORE configuration software is currently Windows-only. Basic pointer operation and complete desktop remapping, lighting, firmware or profile control are not the same thing.

High-button-count gaming
Six remappable buttons can cover general gaming and some MMO layouts, but this is not a 12-button MMO mouse. Buyers who need numerous thumb commands should choose a purpose-built MMO design.
Who should buy it?
Buy the Model O3 Wireless if
- You want a symmetrical wireless mouse and strongly dislike plugging it in during use.
- You play or work long sessions where immediate battery swaps are valuable.
- Your high-refresh-rate setup can benefit from 8,000Hz 2.4GHz polling.
- You accept a proprietary battery-and-dock ecosystem and the $159.99 price.
- You prefer a closed shell over older honeycomb-style Model O designs.
Skip it if
- Performance per dollar matters more than uninterrupted wireless operation.
- You are comfortable charging conventionally or using a mouse while it is wired.
- You want the absolute lowest weight; the wired O3 is 54g.
- You need many side buttons, a standard replaceable battery, or a conventional USB charging arrangement.
- You expect full Glorious CORE support on macOS or Linux.
- You specifically need an ergonomic right-handed shell; consider the D3 instead.
Verdict
The Model O3 Wireless is a real and useful innovation, but it is a targeted one. InfinitePlay and the Guardian Battery System can eliminate cable interruptions for users willing to keep the charging base and spare pack organized. They do not make the mouse more accurate, and they do not justify the premium for everyone.
At $159.99, buy it when uninterrupted wireless operation is your priority. For value-focused buyers, the Model O3 Wired delivers the same headline sensor and optical-switch platform for roughly $90 less. For ergonomic users, the Model D3 Wireless offers the same battery concept in a right-handed shell. The O3 Wireless is best viewed as a premium convenience mouse—not a mouse with hot-swappable buttons.
