Start with the platform: Gran Turismo 7 is for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5; Forza Motorsport (2023) is for Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC. If you own only one of those platforms, that is likely your answer. If you can play both, choose by the career and competition modes you want—not by an assumed winner for handling, graphics, or matchmaking, which official feature pages do not establish.

So, Gran Turismo 7 is not on Xbox or PC, and Forza Motorsport is not on PlayStation according to the official platform information cited here. Cloud access is a distinct route to play, not evidence of a native version for another console.

Which game’s career and solo modes suit you?
Gran Turismo 7: campaign, collection, and car culture
GT7 combines GT Campaign progression with Arcade, Driving School, tuning, car collecting, and Scapes photography. Its structure is a fit if you like moving between races, learning driving techniques, customizing cars, and building a collection. PlayStation also describes Café menus as part of progression. Forza Motorsport: building cars through race weekends
Forza’s Builders Cup is its named career mode and is framed around building cars. The official feature list also includes Free Play for custom races and Rivals for time-attack competition. How do their online modes differ?
GT7: Sport Mode and PlayStation’s online conditions
GT7 includes Sport Mode Daily Races and an official Online Championship. PlayStation says PS Plus is required for online play, while online play itself is optional; its listing describes support for up to 20 online players with PS Plus. PlayStation’s Gran Turismo 7 listing

Forza: Featured Multiplayer and Rivals
Forza’s Featured Multiplayer is organized around race weekends, with tire and fuel strategy and driver and safety ratings described by Turn 10. Rivals provides a time-attack alternative. The cited official sources do not establish a full, current subscription-requirement matrix for Forza’s modes, so check the relevant Xbox, Microsoft Store, or Steam listing for your platform and access method before buying or subscribing. Does one have more cars or tracks?
The available official figures are not an apples-to-apples current inventory comparison. PlayStation’s listing describes GT7 as having more than 420 cars available from day one, says more than 100 cars have been added since launch, and lists 37 tracks with 110 layouts. Turn 10’s October 10, 2023 launch announcement said Forza Motorsport had over 500 cars and 20 tracks at launch. That is a dated launch-era statement, not a verified current total. GT7 supports optional PS VR2 on PS5; you do not need the headset to play. In VR, 2P Split Screen is excluded, and the game is not compatible with PS VR2 Sense controllers. Forza on Xbox and PC
Turn 10 describes real-time on-track ray tracing, dynamic time of day, and changing weather. On PC, your hardware affects the experience; the cited announcement does not establish a single performance level for all computers. - Choose Gran Turismo 7 if you play on PS4 or PS5 and want its GT Campaign, collecting and tuning loop, Sport Mode, or—on PS5—the optional VR mode. Factor in its PlayStation online requirement and offline limitation.
- Choose Forza Motorsport if you play on Xbox Series X|S or Windows PC and prefer Builders Cup, Free Play, Rivals, or the race-weekend structure of Featured Multiplayer.
- Compare current listings before paying if edition contents, subscription access, or add-ons are decisive. Prices and availability change, and the official sources cited here do not establish current comparable prices or a complete Forza subscription matrix.

Updates and editions to check before purchase
GT7’s official product page says SPEC III arrived on December 4, 2025, adding eight cars, two real-world circuits, a Data Logger, enhanced Weekly Challenges, and Café menus. PlayStation’s listing also references later 2026 updates and a planned two-part Spec IV release, so SPEC III should not be treated as the latest state of the game. PlayStation’s US listing shows Standard and Digital Deluxe editions, with Deluxe content including in-game credits, a Toyota GR Yaris, avatars, and a soundtrack. It also lists the PS5-only Power Pack add-on at US$29.99 in the captured store listing, featuring 50 races across 20 categories, endurance events, and full race weekends. Turn 10’s official Forza sources describe Standard, Deluxe, and Premium editions and their included add-ons, but do not establish current comparable prices. The same publisher documented changes in Update 21 during 2025, including multiplayer event variety, manual grid ordering in private multiplayer, and a Fanatec DD2 mapping fix; this confirms post-launch changes, not a current update cadence or service-status guarantee.
