To start Graviton Through the Ages in Destiny 2, first complete The Edge of Fate campaign on Kepler. Then follow the quest through four weapon-part searches, using Matterspark, Mattermorph and Relocator cannons to navigate the routes. The first reward chest after completing the Sieve awards the craftable Graviton Spike Exotic Hand Cannon.
Before you start
Bungie lists Graviton Through the Ages among The Edge of Fate Exotic quests and recommends finishing the Kepler campaign before attempting it. See Bungie’s new-player progression guide. After the campaign’s final cutscene returns you to the Caldera, speak with Lodi. The archived first quest step is “Speak to Lodi,” as recorded by Ishtar Collective.

- Speak with Lodi in the Caldera.
- Go to the Altar of Relativity and pick up the quest.
- Return to Lodi to unlock Rosetta III.
- Speak with The Emeritus to begin the first weapon-part search.

1. Outer Steppes
- Follow the marker into the search area and defeat the Rosetta Sentry.
- Interact with the nearby console, then follow the updated marker.
- Drop down to the generator and launcher area. Use Matterspark to charge the generators and open the route.
- Go through the final door and search the object beyond it for the weapon part.
- Return to The Emeritus for the next step.
2. The Gorge / Stellar Sink
- Follow the marker through the collapsed-column route and the passage blocked by Mattermorph.
- Defeat the Rosetta Sentry and interact with the terminal.
- At the later arena, take the side tunnel. Cross the chasm in Matterspark form, then use the Mattermorph object to clear a route back toward the weapon part.
- Collect the part and return to Lodi.
3. Exile’s Accord
- Travel from Curtilage Divide toward Augur’s Bethel, following the train route and using the Relocator cannon.
- Pass through the Matterspark portal, defeat the Rosetta Sentry and activate the panel.
- If the marker seems to point the wrong way, backtrack toward the portal and look for the next cannon route.
- Search the tunnel opposite the train entrance for the part, then return to The Emeritus.
4. Department of External Observations / Central Academy
- At Aionian Campus, destroy the door generators before interacting with the terminal.
- Look behind the partly open laser-grid door; the part is visible beyond it but cannot yet be reached.
- Find the box held by a crane and open it with Mattermorph to obtain a Relocator.
- Fire a portal through the gap in the laser-grid door, then teleport through to collect the weapon part.
- Return to Lodi.
Collect Vex Data Fragments and complete the Sieve
After the four weapon-part searches, collect the Vex Data Fragments requested by the quest. Then return to the final weapon-part search and complete the Sieve, a timed Kepler activity. The detailed guide says the first reward chest after the activity grants Graviton Spike. The Sieve’s schedule can change, so check its availability in game rather than relying on a reported cadence from a 2025 guide.

Traversal tips if a marker is confusing
- Check for another route. A marker may be difficult to read around portals, tunnels or multi-level areas. Look nearby for the intended cannon, side passage or return path before assuming the objective is blocked.
- Use the right tool for the obstacle. Matterspark enables the special crossings and generator interactions described on the route; Mattermorph clears or opens specific objects; Relocators create portal access.
- Recheck the objective after interacting. Consoles, terminals and panels can update the marker and send you to a different part of the same area.
Historical alternate-character issue
In its July 24, 2025 This Week in Destiny, Bungie reported an issue in which players who had acquired but not completed Graviton Through the Ages could be blocked from the Commencement campaign mission on alternate characters. That is a dated report, not confirmation that the issue is still active. Check Bungie’s July 24, 2025 notice for the original report and current in-game behavior for its status.
