The Harvest Reaper ritual was a limited Halloween event in Grow a Garden in 2025; it is not confirmed to be available now. During the event, players submitted crops to 25 ritual plates around the Reaper, and completing the ritual could award a Severed Spine seed if stock remained.
Was the Harvest Reaper ritual available in 2025?
The community event page reports that the Halloween Event ran from October 11 to November 1, 2025. The sources describing the ritual are guides and a community wiki, not a current official listing, so they do not establish that the Reaper or Severed Spine is available in the game today. Check the live game for an announced event before setting out to complete the ritual.
How to complete the Harvest Reaper ritual
- Find the Reaper and its plates. During the event, the Harvest Reaper appeared at the center of the lobby, surrounded by 25 ritual plates. Each plate showed a requested crop.
- Check the exact requirement. Read the plate before submitting. A requirement could specify a crop mutation as well as a crop—for example, a November 2025 guide listed Spooky Carrot and Bloodlit Sugar Apple. The plate in the game is the authority on what that ritual needs.
- Equip the requested crop and submit it. Beebom’s guide says to equip the matching crop, interact with its plate by pressing E, then select Submit. After a successful submission, the plate’s flame reportedly changed from orange to blue.
- Repeat for the full ritual. Complete the plates’ requirements. The Severed Spine seed was reported as a possible completion reward only while it remained in stock.
What did players get for completing it?
Beebom and the community wiki report that finishing the ritual could award a Severed Spine seed, subject to stock. The wiki also says each submitted crop awarded 50 Candy Corn. It describes Severed Spine as a limited, multi-harvest Prismatic crop with an in-game ability that deters nearby stealing. These are secondary-source descriptions of the 2025 event, not verified current item specifications.
When did the Reaper appear?
Published guides disagree about the schedule. Beebom describes the Witch, Dead Tree, and Reaper rotating through the lobby center every hour, which would put the Reaper in a two-hour rotation. The community wiki instead says the Reaper arrived every four hours and stayed for one hour. Because these accounts conflict and the reported Halloween Event ended November 1, 2025, neither should be treated as a current schedule. If a new event is announced, check its live in-game timing.
