The Grow a Garden Zen Event rewards came from two routes: submit Tranquil crops to the Zen Channeller to grow the Zen Tree and earn milestone rewards, or give crops to Tanuki for Chi to spend in Tranquil Treasures. The event window reported by the guides was July 19–August 2, 2025; a later return or current version has not been verified, so treat the details below as historical rather than live-event instructions.
How to get Tranquil crops
During the 2025 event, Zen Aura weather was reported to occur at the start of each hour and last 10 minutes. During that window, one random garden crop was said to gain the Tranquil mutation about every 30 seconds. These are reported event mechanics, not verified current behavior. Pocket Tactics’ Zen Event guide describes the timing, while the Grow a Garden update listing describes the event as happening at the start of every hour.

Once you have Tranquil crops, choose the recipient according to what you want: the Zen Channeller for Zen Tree progress, or Tanuki for spendable Chi. Those are separate reward routes.
Choose between the Zen Tree and Tanuki
Zen Channeller: tree progress and milestone rewards
Giving Tranquil crops to the Zen Channeller advances the Zen Tree. The tree has seven reported stages; reaching milestones can award random event items and unlock higher-tier Tranquil Treasures stock. After stage seven, further contributions can still produce rewards. The sources do not establish a guaranteed specific item for each milestone.

Tanuki: Chi for direct shop purchases
Tanuki exchanges Tranquil crops for Chi, which you keep and spend in Tranquil Treasures. The 2025 guide’s base values scale with crop rarity: Common gives 1 Chi, Uncommon 2, Rare 3, Legendary 4, Mythical 5, Divine 6, Prismatic 7, and Transcendent 8. Pocket Tactics also reports Gold and Rainbow mutation bonuses, but another source summary gives a conflicting Rainbow bonus; confirm mutation values in-game rather than relying on a disputed figure.
Use the route that matches your goal: the Channeller advances the tree and can yield random milestone rewards, while Tanuki gives currency for selecting from available shop stock. The better choice depends on your crop values and which items you want.
Zen Tree stages and shop unlocks
Two guides report the following Chi thresholds. These are tree-stage requirements and reported shop unlocks, not a promise that every listed item will be in stock at all times.

The thresholds are reported by Pocket Tactics and Gamezebo’s Zen Event guide. The stage-seven item lists differ, so check the in-game shop for availability rather than assuming every item is included.

Zen Tree milestones are reported to award random Zen Eggs, Zen Seed Packs, Zen Crates, Zen Gnome Crates, and 20 Chi. The available guides do not map a particular item to each stage, so treat these as possible milestone rewards rather than a fixed stage-by-stage table.

The same guide reports that stock refreshed every 60 minutes and that manual restocking cost 500,000 Sheckles during the event. It describes the Zen Egg as a source of Shiba Inu, Nihonzaru, Tanuki, Tanchozuru, Kappa, and Kitsune pets; its listed Kitsune drop chance is 0.08%. That probability is the guide’s published figure, not an independently measured rate.
What is and is not confirmed about the event
The dates and mechanics above describe the 2025 event, not a confirmed live event as of October 2026. The guides broadly agree on Tranquil crops, the two NPC routes, and the seven tree thresholds, but some fine details—especially the stage-seven unlock list and mutation bonuses—are inconsistent. The Gamezebo guide was published later than the event, while the detailed shop and drop-rate figures come from Pocket Tactics’ 2025 coverage. Check the game itself if the event returns or its shop changes.
