Für die Installation nennt es GTA 2 v9.6 als getestete Version, die RTX Remix Runtime sowie 64-Bit-Windows 10 oder 11.
Wie funktioniert GTA 2 RTX Remix?
GTA2 RTX Remix stellt die Verbindung zwischen dem Spiel und NVIDIAs Remix-Runtime her. Im Projekt sind gta2dx9.dll als Renderer und gta2dx9_vid.dll als Video-Device-Shim aufgeführt. Im Kern handelt es sich um eine eigene Direct3D-9-Implementierung für die Renderstrecke von GTA 2 – nicht darum, dass das ursprüngliche Spiel selbst RTX-Funktionen eingebaut bekommt.
NVIDIAs RTX Remix Wiki beschreibt die Runtime als Zusammenspiel von Bridge und Renderer: Die Bridge fängt Direct3D-9-Befehle im Spielprozess ab und leitet sie weiter. Der Remix-Renderer nutzt Informationen zu Geometrie, Materialien und Licht aus diesen Befehlen, um eine Pathtracing-Szene aufzubauen. Der eigene Renderer des GTA-2-Projekts soll diese Verarbeitung für das Spiel ermöglichen.
Welche Änderungen und Extras nennt das Projekt?
Die Funktionen in der README sind Angaben der Projektentwickler; sie sind keine unabhängig gemessenen oder hier getesteten Ergebnisse.

Wie installiere ich den Mod?
- Laden Sie eine Release des GTA2-RTX-Remix-Projekts herunter und entpacken Sie sie in den GTA-2-Ordner.
- Führen Sie im entpackten Paket
install.regaus. - Lesen Sie die vollständige Datei
gta2dx9_README.txt, die der Release beiliegt. Folgen Sie bei Abweichungen dieser projektspezifischen Anleitung. - Starten Sie das Spiel über
gta2.exe.
NVIDIAs allgemeine Runtime-Setup-Anleitung sieht vor, Runtime-Dateien neben der Haupt-EXE abzulegen; sie nennt dabei die Bridge-d3d9.dll und den Ordner .trex. NVIDIA weist zugleich darauf hin, dass manche Spiele Dateien an einer anderen Stelle suchen. Für GTA 2 ist deshalb die Anleitung aus der konkreten Projekt-Release maßgeblich; installieren Sie Runtime-Dateien nicht zusätzlich an einen vermuteten Ort, ohne diese Anleitung zu prüfen.
Was ist über Leistung und Kompatibilität bekannt?
Das Projekt nennt Frame Generation mit bis zu 60 fps, veröffentlicht in den hier belegten Quellen aber keinen dazugehörigen Benchmark und keine Mindestanforderung für die Grafikkarte. Die Zahl sollte daher nicht als feste Bildrate verstanden werden, die jede unterstützte Konfiguration erreicht. Es gibt auch keine belastbaren Vergleichswerte für bestimmte GPUs, Presets oder Leistungssteigerungen.

Wer den Renderer selbst bauen möchte, findet im Repository getrennte Entwicklerangaben. Laut README wird Visual Studio mit dem C++-x86-Toolset benötigt. package.bat erstellt das Paket mit den beiden Projekt-DLLs. Außerdem müssen die RTX-Remix-API-Header unter dll/deps/bridge_api zur verwendeten Remix-Runtime passen. Diese Schritte sind für einen eigenen Build gedacht, nicht für die Installation einer fertigen Release.
