When does the GTA 6 DualSense controller come out?
Sony announced November 19, 2026 as the launch date for both limited-edition controllers. Rockstar lists the same date for Grand Theft Auto VI, which is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Sony cautions that the controller’s exact launch date and availability may vary by country or region. Rockstar’s official GTA VI listing gives the game date and platforms; Sony’s controller announcement gives the edition timing and regional caveat.
How much does the GTA 6 PS5 controller cost?
Sony’s September 3, 2026 announcement lists these recommended retail prices:

Where can you preorder or buy it?
Sony scheduled preorders to begin September 10, 2026. That start date has passed; it is not evidence that preorders remain open. Sony directed customers to PlayStation Direct in specified markets, to PlayStation Store in Portugal, and to participating retailers. Check the local PlayStation store and retailers for current listings rather than assuming a particular seller has stock.
For PlayStation Direct, Sony specified a 7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET preorder start in the United States, and 10:00 a.m. local time in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. Those were the announced start times, not current ordering hours. Sony also said eligible direct orders would receive free launch-day delivery; confirm the offer and eligibility on the live regional store page before ordering.

Are stocks running low?
Sony describes the controllers as available in limited quantities. That does not establish how many units remain, whether preorders sold quickly, or whether either color is currently scarce. No official inventory count or demand figure is provided in the announcement. Availability can change by retailer and region, so check live listings for the black and white editions separately.
What are the two GTA VI controller designs?
The announced products are the DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition and the White Limited Edition. Sony’s announcement establishes both designs, but does not indicate that one is more popular or harder to find than the other. The controller is a PS5 accessory; Rockstar lists the game itself for both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

What does the controller add to GTA VI on PS5?
PlayStation says the PS5 version of GTA VI uses DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. These are the controller features Sony identifies for the game; the announcement does not specify exactly how each effect will work in particular gameplay situations.
