Verdict: Corsair did not announce or leak a confirmed PC release date for Grand Theft Auto VI. A Corsair executive was reported in February 2025 as suggesting an early-2026 PC launch, but Corsair later clarified that it had received no release target from Rockstar Games or Take-Two and that the timing was speculation. As of August 18, 2026, Rockstar officially lists GTA VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026; no PC version or date is listed.
What Corsair actually said
The early-2026 story came from remarks by a Corsair executive during the company’s February 12, 2025 earnings-call period. Secondary reports interpreted the comments as pointing to a PC version of GTA VI arriving early in 2026. The context was a discussion of expected PC-gaming demand, not a Rockstar announcement or a published game-release schedule.
Corsair subsequently told media that it had not been given a PC release date or target by Rockstar Games or Take-Two. In other words, the statement was an expectation or inference—not privileged information about an approved launch plan. PC Gamer’s report documents both the original interpretation and the clarification.

The speculation had a recognizable logic, but logic is not confirmation.

- Grand Theft Auto V launched on consoles before reaching PC, so observers expected Rockstar might again stagger platforms.
- A later PC release can create a second major sales event after the console launch.
- PC versions generally require additional optimization, testing, graphics options and support across a much wider range of hardware.
- Corsair sells PC components and peripherals, giving its executives a reason to discuss likely hardware demand without having inside information about Rockstar’s calendar.
Those are industry-pattern arguments. They cannot establish a month, season or year for GTA VI on PC.
Rockstar’s official position as of August 18, 2026
Rockstar’s current official game listing gives a November 19, 2026 release date and names only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar’s platform-and-editions support page, updated June 24, 2026, likewise covers those two consoles and does not list a PC edition.

Rockstar moved the game to November 19, 2026 in a November 6, 2025 Newswire announcement, saying the extra development time was needed to reach its quality target. That announcement did not add a PC platform.

Take-Two’s pre-order announcement also says the physical package contains a download code rather than a game disc. Those details apply to the announced console editions, not a future PC product.

What Take-Two has said about PC
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has publicly explained that Rockstar often launches major games on consoles first because that is where the franchise’s core audience is concentrated. He has also described PC as an increasingly important part of the business. Those statements establish a strategic priority, not a GTA VI PC date. GameSpot’s coverage distinguishes the console-first strategy from claims about platform deals or a specific PC timetable.
Could a PC version still happen?
Yes, it remains plausible, and many players reasonably expect one. Rockstar has brought major Grand Theft Auto releases to PC, while Take-Two has said more platform announcements will come in due time. But neither point supplies a launch window for GTA VI. Take-Two’s comments reported by PC Gamer support the possibility without dating it.

The historical gap between console and PC versions of GTA V can be useful context, but it is not a schedule for this game. There is no verified basis for saying PC will arrive in 2027, exactly one year after consoles, or in any other particular period. Silence also does not prove cancellation; it means only that Rockstar has not made the version and date public in the cited materials.

What this means for PC players
Buy a console for launch-day access
Choose a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S if playing on November 19, 2026 is the priority, or if you already want that console for other games. The trade-off is financial uncertainty: if you later move to PC, you may need to buy the game again. Rockstar has not stated that a console purchase will transfer to a future PC edition.

Wait for PC
Waiting makes sense if you already have a capable gaming PC, value high frame rates, ultrawide displays, extensive graphics settings, mods or mouse-and-keyboard controls, and do not want to pay twice. The cost is an unknown wait with no confirmed date.
Do not upgrade hardware on the Corsair rumor
Rockstar has not published PC system requirements. There is therefore no reliable basis for choosing a graphics card, processor, memory kit, SSD or “GTA VI-ready” prebuilt specifically for this game. Corsair’s comments do not make Corsair hardware necessary.
What would count as real PC confirmation?
Give greatest weight to publisher-controlled evidence, in this order:
- Rockstar updates the official GTA VI platform list.
- Rockstar publishes a Newswire announcement naming PC and a date.
- An official Rockstar Store PC product page appears.
- A publisher-controlled Steam, Epic Games Store or Rockstar Games Launcher listing goes live.
- A Take-Two investor document explicitly identifies PC as a platform.
Retailer placeholders, database entries, social-media posts and anonymous leaks should not override Rockstar’s platform information. Rockstar’s site currently advertises an “Extended Look” for August 27, 2026 at 3 p.m. ET, but that promotional event is not a PC announcement.
Bottom line on the Corsair headline
“GTA 6 PC version may launch in early 2026” was a February 2025 speculation story, not a confirmed leak. Early 2026 has now passed, and Corsair itself said it had no official target. The only dated launch currently confirmed is November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Treat any PC month or year as unverified until Rockstar or Take-Two publishes it.
