Which GTA IV version do you need?
Check your installed game before downloading or replacing files. The mod listing recommends EFLC 1.1.2.0, says GTA IV 1.0.7.0 is also supported and warns that saves do not work on GTA IV: The Complete Edition. PCGamingWiki notes that EFLC was replaced by Complete Edition and that some mods may require patch 1.1.2.0. PCGamingWiki’s GTA IV page provides version context; it does not override the mod’s own compatibility warning.

- Features exclusive to the PC version include the ability to edit the lead character's appearance and switch to a radio station that plays MP3 files stored on the computer. Perhaps the biggest change is the improved visuals, now optimized specifically for high-performance systems. Players will be able to view the game with new 32-bit textures, longer viewable distances, and support for multiple display resolutions. Furthermore, players can watch replays of the last 30 seconds of action and then e-mail them to friends.
- Offers support for 32-bit textures and multiple display resolutions for sharper visuals than the PS2 game Import your favorite tunes for play on a custom radio station, or listen to over nine hours of '80s music
- Record the last 30 seconds of stunts, shootouts, or fiery crashes and show them to friends via e-mail
- Customize the look of Tommy Vercetti and his threads with the player skin editor
- Supports EAX 3.0 audio for enveloping sound effects and music
| Game version | What the mod listing says | Save compatibility |
|---|---|---|
| EFLC 1.1.2.0 | Recommended | No separate save-compatibility detail stated; the listing’s Complete Edition warning still applies. |
| GTA IV 1.0.7.0 | Supported | No separate save-compatibility detail stated; the listing’s Complete Edition warning still applies. |
| GTA IV: The Complete Edition | Not identified as a supported path for existing saves | The listing says saves do not work. |
EFLC was replaced by Complete Edition, so do not assume that owning the current combined edition means you have the recommended EFLC version. Confirm the version and edition actually installed before proceeding.

The official LibertyCity listing content reviewed does not provide installation steps. A community forum post from 2020 offers the outline below, but it predates the listed 2024 package. The archive was not inspected and installation was not tested, so treat these as secondary guidance rather than definitive instructions. Follow any README or installer included with your download if its directions differ. See the community forum.
Quick Recap
Best Value
- Used Book in Good Condition
Rank #4
- Awesome visuals and intense action
- Confirm the game version. The listing recommends EFLC 1.1.2.0 and also names GTA IV 1.0.7.0 as supported. Do not rely on Complete Edition saves, which the mod page says will not work.
- Download the package from LibertyCity. Use the listing rather than a mirror, and check the included documentation after unpacking.
- Back up the original game files. Keep a recoverable copy of the files you may replace so you can restore the game if the mod does not work as expected.
- Use the package’s own instructions. The 2020 forum outline says to unpack the mod and copy the contents of its EFLC folder into the installed game folder. That guidance may not match the 2024 archive; consult its README or installer first.
If installation does not go as expected
- The game or saves fail to load: confirm that you are using a version identified by the listing, and remember its warning about Complete Edition saves.
- The archive’s folders do not match the forum outline: do not guess which files to copy. Follow the included README or installer instructions instead.
- You need to undo the changes: restore the original files from your backup.
