A report about a possible move to February 2027 traces to an unverified leak claim, not an announcement from Rockstar or Take-Two.
What is the current official GTA 6 release date?
Take-Two Interactive’s latest release information in the sources reviewed lists Grand Theft Auto VI for November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The company reiterated that date in its June 24, 2026 pre-order announcement. It is the scheduled date, not a guarantee that plans cannot change.

Take-Two said pre-orders would begin June 25, 2026. The available announcements name PS5 and Xbox Series X|S; they do not give a PC release date.
What does the February 2027 leak claim actually establish?
A DreamcastGuy video published May 20, 2026 reported that a 4chan post claimed the game would move to February 2027. The video establishes that the claim was discussed, but the original post, the poster’s identity or reliability, and independent corroboration are not established in the available evidence. Rockstar and Take-Two have not confirmed that date in the official information cited here.

That makes February 2027 an unverified rumor, not a newly announced launch window. The claim should not be treated as evidence that another delay has happened or is planned.

What is confirmed about platforms and the physical version?
Rockstar’s August 27, 2026 extended look was described as captured entirely in-game on PS5. That identifies the platform used for that footage; it does not establish final performance on every platform.
Rockstar Support says the physical version contains a download code used to download the game. In other words, the support information does not describe a disc containing the game data. See Rockstar’s support page for the physical-version detail.

How to tell an official date change from a rumor
- Look for a Rockstar or Take-Two announcement. A repost, video, or unattributed leak is not equivalent to a publisher-confirmed date.
- Check what the source actually proves. In this case, the video reports a 4chan claim; it does not authenticate the original post or independently corroborate its contents.
- Use the latest official date, with a date attached. The official information cited here names November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, as of October 8, 2026.
Because release plans can change, a later official Rockstar or Take-Two update would supersede this scheduled date.
