Haunt the House: Terrortown is a 2D side-scrolling action-puzzle game in which you play a ghost, possess everyday objects and use them to frighten people out of buildings around town. You have one night to haunt the town—not just one house—and digital listings are available through Steam and the developer’s itch.io page.
What is Haunt the House: Terrortown?
Developed and published by SFB Games, Haunt the House: Terrortown is a single-player game built around possession and scares. The Steam listing categorizes it as action, casual and indie, and describes it as a side-scrolling action puzzle game. You begin as a ghost leaving an abandoned clock tower, then travel through town trying to clear its locations before the night ends.
Steam’s description sums up the premise: “Haunt your way through town in the dead of night! Possess objects to scare people away from a museum, a hospital, a theatre and a cruise ship.” The listing describes five locations in total, each with its own musical style and unique objects.
How does the haunting work?
You possess objects in each location and trigger their ghostly powers to scare the people nearby. The goal is to make the townfolk leave, so the puzzle is choosing how to use the objects around you to build a frightening sequence. Steam describes hundreds of possessable objects, a cast of townfolk, an original score and a secret second goal; those are features claimed by the store listing, not an independently verified count.
