A missing health bar does not have one universal fix: the setting may be conditional, the bar may belong to an ally or enemy, or the display may be clipped. Start by identifying the game, platform, and which bar is missing, then use the checks below. For Fortnite OG, Epic Games Support specifically recommends submitting an in-game bug report if the Health bar is not visible.
First, identify which health bar is missing
Before changing settings, note the game or app, platform, and version, and identify the missing indicator:
- Your own player health bar
- An ally’s health bar
- An enemy’s health bar
- A character’s overhead health bar
These are different display elements, and their settings vary by game. A fix reported for an allied bar in one title may not apply to your own HUD in another.
Check HUD and health-display settings
Open the game’s HUD, interface, or health-display settings and look for a disabled indicator, a contextual or conditional display mode, or an option to restore defaults. Setting names and menu paths differ between games, so use the current controls for the title you are playing rather than assuming the same option exists everywhere.

Overwatch: an allied-bar setting reported by a player
An Overwatch forum participant said changing Allied Health Bar from Contextual to Default resolved an allied-health-bar issue. This is a player report, not official support guidance or a guaranteed fix. It is relevant only if the missing indicator is an ally’s bar and that setting is available in your version.
Check whether the bar appears only under certain conditions
A bar can be absent by design when a game displays it only in certain situations. In Roblox, the documented DisplayWhenDamaged mode shows a humanoid’s health bar only when its health is below full, provided MaxHealth is greater than zero. A bar that appears after taking damage may therefore be working as configured, rather than broken.

Check whether the HUD is clipped or displaced
If other interface elements are also shifted or cut off, the issue may involve the display area or HUD scale rather than the health indicator alone. Fortnite player discussions suggest trying HUD-scale or display-area adjustments, but these are anecdotal suggestions, not a confirmed fix. Use the game’s current settings guidance and undo an adjustment if it does not help.
Report a missing Health bar in Fortnite OG
Epic Games Support says: “If you’re unable to see the Health bar in Fortnite OG, please submit a bug report here so that our team can investigate.” Follow the in-game bug-report process for Fortnite OG; this instruction is specific to that game mode and should not be assumed to apply to other games.

If the basic checks do not solve it
Use the support route for the identified game. When reporting the issue, include the game and version, platform, which character’s bar is missing, and whether it is entirely absent or merely clipped off-screen. Those details help distinguish a conditional display setting from a HUD layout problem or a title-specific bug.
