Hell is Us expects you to find your way by observing Hadea, listening to people and investigating clues—not by following a map or quest marker. Use this spoiler-aware guide to understand that approach, then choose whether you want a general hint or a direct solution for a specific obstacle.

What kind of walkthrough works for Hell is Us?

Hell is Us is a third-person action-adventure set in Hadea, a country torn apart by civil conflict and a mysterious calamity. The PlayStation Store describes a semi-open world built around exploration, melee combat and encounters with supernatural creatures. Its official description says modern weapons cannot defeat those creatures, while an old sword and your drone are among your allies. PlayStation Store: Hell is Us

This is not a game designed around a conventional chain of objectives. Rogue Factor deliberately removed detailed maps, compasses, quest markers and quest journals. The developer’s intended loop is to notice environmental details, gather actionable information from NPCs and investigate proactively. Challenges may have more than one path to a solution, so treat any walkthrough route as a useful approach rather than proof that every other route is wrong. How to progress without a map or quest markers

  1. Listen for usable details. When speaking with an NPC, focus on names, places, landmarks, events and anything they say is missing, blocked or dangerous. The dialogue is meant to help you decide what to investigate next.
  2. Look for clues in the environment. Compare what people tell you with what you can see around them. Distinctive locations and visible changes can orient you even when there is no map pin to follow.
  3. Connect information across locations. A conversation may not give a complete route. Keep the detail in mind as you explore, and use it to interpret what you encounter elsewhere.
  4. Investigate rather than wait for an objective prompt. If a lead seems relevant, inspect the surrounding area and speak with people who may know more. The game expects active exploration, not just movement toward a marked destination.
  5. Consider another approach if you are stuck. The developer says challenges can have multiple paths to resolution. Revisit what you know and test a different line of investigation instead of assuming there is only one intended sequence.

How to use this guide without spoiling a discovery

For a particular mission or puzzle, start with a hint that points you toward the kind of clue to seek. Stop there if you want to make the connection yourself. Read a partial direction only if you need help narrowing down where to look; use a full solution when you are ready for the answer. That separation matters in a game built around observation and reasoning. The developer’s exploration guidance also supports allowing for multiple approaches instead of treating one walkthrough route as universal.

What to expect from combat

The official PlayStation description identifies swords, spears and axes as weapons for fighting supernatural creatures. It also emphasizes learning enemy behavior and using the drone wisely. These are broad design pointers, not a verified build or step-by-step combat strategy; the official description does not establish a specific weapon ranking or optimal setup.
