Players get a Player Home they can customize and upgrade, can help Sanrio characters build homes of their own, and can add rooms to a Home or cabin through a new Pocket Rooms system. The update also adds Postboxes for gifts, a new friend linked to homes, and a crafting event called Days of Plenty.
What the 3.0 update adds
The feature list below comes from the 3.0.0 entry in Apple’s App Store version history. It is the most detailed published description of the update available so far. Apple’s listing is not a full patch-notes document, so the mechanics behind each feature (costs, unlock steps, limits) are covered in the section on open questions.
Player Home
The Player Home is the personal house for your own character. The update lets you customize it and upgrade it over time. This is the base system the other home features build on.
Character Homes
Character Homes are houses for Sanrio characters rather than for the player. The studio describes them as homes that players help their favorite Sanrio characters create. The listing does not say how many characters are included at launch, what each home requires, or how far along the process goes before a home is finished.

Pocket Rooms
Pocket Rooms add extra spaces to a Home or to a cabin. According to the App Store description, they are built using doors, stairs, and spiral staircases. Think of them as the way to expand an existing space rather than a separate house. The listing does not state how many Pocket Rooms a property can hold or whether every cabin can take them.
Postboxes
Postboxes have two functions. They receive gifts from friends and from Cornerstones, and they let you send items ahead of time to character postboxes. The second function is the one most relevant to Character Homes: sending items to a character’s postbox in advance is how the listing describes contributing to a character’s home, but it does not spell out which items a particular character needs.

A new friend and the Days of Plenty event
The update introduces a new friend associated with homes, antiques, and craftsmanship. The listing does not give the character’s name or unlock conditions. It also adds Days of Plenty, a crafting event. The listing gives no dates, rewards, or duration for the event.
Release timing and platforms
Sunblink announced Welcome Home as a free major update. The announcement was posted to the studio’s Discord and is reproduced on the Official Hello Kitty Island Adventure Wiki’s Updates page. It reads:

October 8, 2026 is therefore the announced launch target. When the App Store listing was checked on October 8, 2026, it showed version 3.0.0. Per-platform rollout dates were not published separately, so the App Store listing does not confirm that every platform went live on the same day.

What is not yet confirmed
The published material does not answer several questions that players are asking. Until the developer publishes full notes, treat the following as open:
- Character Home requirements. Players are searching for what is needed to unlock or build new character houses. The sources reviewed do not answer this.
- Unlock steps and progression. No quest prerequisites or friendship levels are listed for any home system.
- Costs and materials. The listing does not state the currencies, items, or amounts needed to customize, upgrade, or expand a home.
- Room and building limits. The number of Pocket Rooms or other structures allowed per home is not stated.
- Whether you must update. The App Store shows 3.0.0 as the current version, but neither the listing nor the announcement states whether older versions can still reach the new homes features. Check the update section of your platform’s store to see which version it offers.
- Per-platform timing. No separate rollout schedule has been published for Switch, PC, PlayStation, or Apple Arcade.
