Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is already out. Saber Interactive’s official site lists the game as “OUT NOW,” and its FAQ gives October 8, 2026 as the release date for PC and consoles. That is 23 days before Halloween on October 31, so the headline’s “not ready” framing does not match the publisher’s listing. The only format that lands close to the holiday is the Nintendo Switch 2 physical retail edition, which Saber dates to October 30, 2026, one day before Halloween.
Release dates by platform
The launch date is the same across platforms, but the physical media differ. The table below uses the official FAQ and store listings as of the October 8, 2026 launch.

If you are buying a physical Switch 2 copy for Halloween, the retail date leaves almost no margin. Treat October 30 as the last day it is guaranteed to be on shelves, and check stock before then. Stock and pricing are not covered by the publisher’s FAQ and can change.
What the game is
Saber classifies Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival as a single-player, first-person action horror survival game. According to the official description, Aidan must use the Genesis Configuration to help his girlfriend Sunny escape the Labyrinth, and he has to survive a bargain with Pinhead. Aidan uses the puzzle box alongside earthly weapons, and enemies include cultists devoted to the Cenobites.

Emil Esov’s post on the PlayStation Blog describes dual-wielding weapons and Genesis Configuration powers. It also describes escape tactics such as switching off the flashlight or making a quick turn and running. These are developer descriptions of the design, not findings from independent play.
Content warnings
The game carries mature content across several categories, and the storefronts name them differently. The table below lists the warnings exactly as each source states them.

The two lists overlap but are not identical. Steam’s description covers narrative themes that the PlayStation Store warning does not name, so readers who are sensitive to those topics should check the Steam page directly.

Creators who stream or post videos should note Saber Support’s guidance. It advises setting an 18+ age restriction on videos and streams and using a sexual-themes label where the platform offers one. Saber Support also states there is no streamer mode that changes the game’s content.

The editions differ by platform, so compare each storefront rather than assuming one price applies everywhere.

These are the minimum specifications listed by Saber and on the Steam store page. They are publisher-listed requirements, not results from independent performance testing.

Length, connectivity and updates
- Playtime: Saber estimates around 8–12 hours for a playthrough, depending on play style. This is the developer’s estimate, not a tested completion time.
- Internet: Saber says no internet connection is required.
- Demo: Saber confirms a demo on Steam.
- Updates: Saber expects to release patches for post-launch issues, but says there are no plans for future DLC or content updates.

Hellraiser continuity and development
An Xbox Wire interview says the game is inspired by the first two Hellraiser films, but its plot is not directly connected to them. It is a new story set in the same universe. The same interview says Clive Barker was deeply involved from the beginning, giving input on visual style, story motifs, lore and character personalities. That describes his creative input, not personal authorship of every element.
Game Director Emil Esov, Saber Interactive, wrote on the PlayStation Blog on July 16, 2026: “The team has been hard at work over the past 4+ years creating a game that brings life to Clive Barker’s unique style of horror.” The four-year figure is the developer’s own statement.
Practical checks before you buy or play
- If you need a physical copy by Halloween, Switch 2 retail is the only format with a date that falls near the holiday, so plan around October 30.
- On PC, confirm your hardware against the minimum specifications above, including the 80 GB of free storage.
- Read the content warnings for your platform before watching or streaming the game, since the storefronts list different themes.
- Check the Steam demo if you want to test the game before buying.
