If Hi-Fi RUSH shows “UE4-Hibiki Game Has Crashed” or a Fatal Error on PC, work through KRAFTON’s error-specific checklist in order, starting with system requirements and graphics drivers. The checklist offers diagnostic steps, not a guaranteed fix: the cause can differ by PC, and the available official guidance does not identify one universal cause.
Fix the “UE4-Hibiki Game Has Crashed” error in KRAFTON’s order
KRAFTON’s error-specific guide, updated November 19, 2025, asks players to follow its steps in order. Change one thing at a time and retry the game after each step so you can tell whether it helped.
- Check the system requirements. Compare your PC with the standard Steam requirements below. These are a baseline, not a promise that the game will never crash.
- Update your graphics drivers. Get the current driver for your GPU from its manufacturer, then restart Windows.
- Disable the Steam Overlay or enable Windows Game Mode. Try the overlay change first if you use Steam; if the problem persists, enable Game Mode in Windows and test again.
- Run the game as administrator. Use the game executable’s Windows option to run as administrator.
- Verify the Steam game files. In Steam, open Hi-Fi RUSH’s Properties, choose Installed Files, then select “Verify integrity of game files.” Wait for the check to finish before launching.
- Disconnect connected controllers. Unplug controllers and other connected gamepads, then launch the game to check whether an input device is involved.
- Check antivirus exclusions. Add the Hi-Fi RUSH executable and Steam client to your antivirus exclusions, following your security software’s instructions. Only exclude the specific files you trust; do not turn off protection permanently.
- Reinstall the DirectX runtime. Restart the PC and test the game afterward.
- If DirectX did not help, check motherboard BIOS and CPU chipset drivers. KRAFTON advises Ryzen users to consult the motherboard manufacturer for BIOS updates and install AMD Ryzen chipset drivers, then restart. BIOS updates vary by motherboard; follow its manufacturer’s instructions and do not interrupt an update.
These are troubleshooting suggestions, not confirmed cures for every PC. KRAFTON’s error guide says to consult a related article for sending crash information, but that page currently marks the link as “Link to related article to be added.” It does not provide a usable crash-log path there.
Check the standard PC requirements
Steam lists the following standard requirements for Hi-Fi RUSH. They answer whether a PC meets the published baseline; they are not a diagnosis of the Fatal Error.

Steam notes that Intel Arc users should check compatible CPU and motherboard requirements. Meeting these listed specifications does not rule out a driver, file, background-software, or other system-specific problem.
Do not confuse the 4K tiers with minimum requirements
KRAFTON separately publishes UHD 4K performance tiers, updated November 20, 2025. These describe targets for 3840×2160 gameplay, not a replacement for Steam’s standard requirements or a specific fix for a crash.

KRAFTON lists TSR, NVIDIA DLSS, Intel XeSS, and AMD FSR 1.0 as available on supported GPUs. Use the 4K tiers to assess a 4K performance target; do not infer that a PC below one of these tiers cannot run the game at other settings or that meeting a tier guarantees crash-free play.

KRAFTON’s separate launch guide covers a game that will not start and includes additional checks. Treat these as related launch troubleshooting, not as fixes confirmed for the exact UE4-Hibiki error.

- Verify files in your launcher. The launch guide includes file verification for Steam, Xbox App, and Epic Games. For Steam, use Properties → Installed Files → “Verify integrity of game files.” For Xbox App or Epic Games, use that launcher’s installed-game verification or repair option.
- Try Windows Compatibility Mode. This is an additional option in KRAFTON’s launch guide.
- Choose the primary GPU and High Performance power settings. If your PC has more than one graphics processor, check that the game uses the primary or dedicated GPU; set Windows power settings to High Performance for testing.
- Try a Clean Boot. This starts Windows with a reduced set of background programs and services, helping identify software conflicts. Restore normal startup settings after the test.
If installing drivers or changing system settings, KRAFTON advises using an administrator account. Avoid making unrelated system changes all at once: if a change makes no difference, revert it where practical before trying the next one.

If Hi-Fi RUSH still crashes or will not launch, KRAFTON’s launch guide says to contact Customer Support with system log files and the error messages. Include your PC specifications, Windows version, launcher, the exact error text, when the crash occurs, and which troubleshooting steps you tried.
